I wrote a Christmas play for the kids to put on at my church and the woman who directs the Christmas plays agreed to use the one I wrote. I'm so pleased. The play is kinda a modern take on Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, but with a more religious undercurrent.
Congrats Mark, will "Bluebird" be a part of the story?

I hope it's as good as Town Without A Turkey.

That's awesome! Is this something you do for fun? Or is this like your life? I ask because I recently completed my undergrad in theatre performance and English, but I have some writing and directing experience as well.

This was for fun, and it was because I felt that the Christmas play should be one that suited the kids involved. Y'see, last years play was weird because the main character was a boy but they had to cast a girl because of the ratio of girls to boys in the church. They couldn't really change the character to a boy because his name "Leon" was important to the point of the play because Leon is Noel spelled backwards. So I decided to write a play with a female lead, and characters that could be played by either boys or girls. I also had certain kids in mind for certain roles.
I do have kind of a background in theatre. I did alot of plays and musicals in Junior High, High School and College as well as some community theatre. It's been about 5 years since I've done any theatre, so I'm aching for it again.

I think I'll just let the woman who's directing it direct it by herself. I'll help her out with a re-write if nessisary though.
