I've seen the Elfen Lied anime, but there are a few questions that I have about the manga. First off is do we find out who Lucy's parents are? If so, who are they? Also, what happens to Lucy and the other characters at the end of the manga? Thanks in advance.

I've heard that Lucy dies at the end, and gets planet wrecking vectors.

I can't remember the details surrounding her mother right now, but her father was the director of the facility that captured and researched the Diclonius(the old man). As for Lucy, because she nearly wiped out Earth with her vectors the world was fully aware of her existence(not to mention she was just sick and tired of living and being a threat to everyone), she and Nyuu begged Kouta to shoot her/them, which he hesitantly did with tears in his eyes, promptly ending her life. Years later, Kouta married Yuka *throws up* and apparently Lucy and Nyuu are reincarnated as two happy twin girls.

Thanks. Do you know what happened to Nana and Mayu?

Okay, I have one more question. Do they find a cure or vaccine to the Diclonius Virus?

Yeah, Arakawa finished the vaccine by the end of the manga.

That brings up another question. Why did Director Kakuzawa want Arakawa to develop a vaccine if he wanted to be the king of the new Diclonius race? And the only way for a new Diclonius race would be for more Diclonii to be born, something that wouldn't happen if the vaccine went into wide distribution. And with Kakuzawa being Lucy's father; that means that Yu Kakuzawa, his son, was Lucy's...at the very least half-brother (unless there was a different revelation in the manga about Kakuzawa's son)? And I thought that Kouta and Yuka marrying was creepy.

He himself said in both anime and manga that he didn't actually want the vaccine but the virus itself. The entire organization (or rather its purpose), was complete and total farce. He believed that Diclonius were a superior race than the Homosapiens and wanted to harness the power of the virus to wipe out the human race all together via biological warfare. After Lucy killed him, she told his corpse that Diclonius were indeed human, not a separate species, just different.
