Hey, next week im goin to the New York City Comic Convention, and i was thinking on buying some good story arcs or other good issues of the Avengers. If anyone could reccommend any good story arcs for me that would be really great :D . Besides good story arcs i am interested in issues that had beast and wonderman in the lineup.
Volume 1:
The Avengers #57 (1st: Vision)
The Avengers #89-97 (Kree-Skrull War)
Avengers Annual #4, The Avengers #144 (1st George Perez Avengers art)
Avengers Annual #8 (George Perez art, Ms. Marvel, vs Doctor Spectrum)
The Avengers #197-200 & Avengers Annual #10 (Marcus/Ms. Marvel storyline; 1st Rogue, vs Brotherhood of Evil Mutants)
The Avengers #185-187 (O: Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch)
The Avengers #168-175 (vs Michael Korvac)
The Avengers #137 (J: Beast, Moondragon)
Avengers Annual #7 (part 1), Marvel Two-in-One Annual #2 (part 2) (vs Thanos, guest starring Captain Marvel, Gamora, Pip, Adam Warlock, Thing, The Avengers, & Spider-Man)
All the Beast/Wonder Man stories occur in Avengers #150-211 plus the Avengers Annuals
Volume 3:
The Avengers #1-58, The Avengers Annual #1
West Coast Avengers #1-4 limited series
West Coast Avengers #1-57, West Coast Avengers Annuals 1-4 (Wonder Man is an active member of the West Coast Avengers at this time)

May I recommend the amusing back up filler "Smacks of Vengence!":D
But seriously folks, DDM seems to have had the reply already formated and ready for the question to resurface again! GOOD JOB! I can't disagree with anything he suggested!

True - but I could add the following storylines (no Beast/Wonder Man stuff tho):
Avengers #267-269 Kang/Immortus war
Avengers #272-277 Under Siege
Avengers #280 Jarvis focus
Avengers #281-285 Avengers take on Olympus
Avengers #334-339 The Collection Obsession
Avengers Forever #1-12
And don't get me started on Operation Galactic Storm

Some of the stuff listed is certainly not what I would list (everyone has their own likes and dislikes), but I am with you on the Korvac Saga.
That is my pick as the best Avengers arc ever.

The only place I have the information formatted is my memory.

I'd also recommend X-Univers #1 and #2. This shows what a powerless team of Avengers (including Don Blake, Tony Stark, Doom, and Gwen Stacy) were upt to in the Age of Apocalypse. Even in a world that was in ruins where the heroes never had a chance to even really get their powers they acted like heroes.

Can anyone recommend any more good Avengers stories. Maybe also from recent ones from the 90s and 2K+. Thanks.

I personally enjoyed "the crossing line" - avengers 319-324 , a homage to DC's silver age JLA/JSA crossovers - in this case , the avengers team up with their russian & canadian counterparts.
5 members from each team - (Team avengers) Cap America , Quasar , Sersi , Vision & Stingray (Team People's proctorate) Red Guardian , Fantasma , Crimson Dynamo , Perun & Vostok & lastly (Team Alpha Flight) Guardian , Box , Puck , Diamond Lil & Shaman. There's 15 international heroes fighting the atlantians fighting a rogue russian sub. :D
Cheesy storyline which has them all working together in the end but it was fun to see the avengers interact with other international heroes. It's too bad that the russian vision aka Vostok never got to interact more with vision outside of this storyline.

As mentioned before 167-168, 170-177 (The Korvac Saga)
As mentioned before 185-187 (Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in Wundagore)
Avengers 183-184 (Crusher Creel)
Avengers 190-191 (Grey Gargoyle when he wasn't a loser)
Avengers 195-196 (Taskmaster)
Avengers 198-199 (Red Ronin)
Avengers 273-277 (Masters Of Evil)
To me those are the best Avengers stories.

The Beast joined in Avengers #137 and Wonder Man re-appeared in Avengers #151. Both stayed with the group until #211, but there were some issues when one or the other would not be on the team. Some of my favorite stories with them in this era included
#160 with the Grim Reaper
#161-#162 with Ultron
#164-#166 with Count Neferia
#170-#171 with Ultron
#194-#202 with Taskmaster, Red Ronin, Marcus and Ultron
All of the above are drawn by Perez except for #164-#166 which is by Byrne and #197 which is by Infantino.

I'd narrow down the WCA to 42-57 for just the Byrne Run, plus the Smack of Vengence (er, Acts of Vengence)
