Has anyone seen this series? Can anyone tell me what the heck happened at the end of the series? That left me very confused. But many anime endings do. They never just END things. It's always left up in the air. Drives me crazy.

And I was annoyed that they killed off some of the main characters before the end of the series.

If you mean the manga, it's restarting (contuing from the last chapter, mind you, not retconning and starting all over) in about a week or so.

And GANTZ kills main characters off all the damn time. It's part of what keeps you on your toes as you read it... you can never tell who's going to bite it next.

If you mean the anime series rather than the manga... man, that's how it works. Same thing happened with Berserk. You gotta read the comics to keep going.

Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the manga hasn't been printed in the US yet.

Hey, thanks for the info guys! I have never read the manga, only watched the anime version.

Can I ask a dumb question. Are the anime movies always based on mangas or no? I had no idea Gantz was a manga. Just goes to show you how much I know about this subject which is zilch.

A lot of anime is based on pre-existing manga, but not always.

In some cases (such as Samurai Champloo or FLCL) the manga is produced as a result of a successful anime.
