That's the case with me. Last night I took a test in Math after studying all afternoon. I was busting out all kinds of shit that I didn't realize that I'd learned when the time was right to answer a question. Now I couldn't tell you the first step in solving any of those problems. Oh well.

Born and raised in Puget Sound, wet weather doesn't faze me unless it's torrential, which we do get here, or if I have to drive in it - mainly because of the other drivers.
So NY is on the wet side today?

I had that a few days early--I didn't do anything productive this weekend, except for reading a little for class (I really should have been working on two papers), shopping for groceries, and washing the clothes.
Instead, I watched old movies, and I'll be paying for that come this weekend, I'm sure. But, hey, THE THIN MAN, THE TENDER TRAP, and NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD made for a very strange triple feature, so.

it's one of those "about to rain any second" days that has you going "c'mon... c'mon... just do it before I leave!"
it did that yesterday. Nice morning, a bit overcast, but short sleave weather. 20 minutes later it had dropped about 15 degrees and the sky was black. We were in a grocery store for the actual torrent, but man, was it wet.
No fun, oral surgeons.

The only other example I can think of--a big property whose title doesn't refer to the actual focus--would be just about anything FRANKENSTEIN-related.
If I ever have a wire-haired terrier, I'm naming him Asta.
Also, Myrna Loy. I love the faces she makes in that movie--the mock-angry face of frustration. I'm making the same face now because I can't find a good image of it.

So this weekend was really fun. We saw an incredible band, Old Crow Medicine Show, two guitars, two banjos, a stand up bass, and a fiddle, then at times one banjo player picked up a dobro and the fiddle player picked up a guitar or/and a harmonica. They played all kinds of real old time music, Woody Guthrie, Noah Lewis, and few traditional songs as well as their own stuff.
Then, Saturday night we saw a band named Then Again, probably the best cover band in Chicago, they did everything from Neil Diamond to Guns and Roses to O.A.R, including Madonna. It was a huge party and really, really fun.
Yesterday was football at the same bar as Saturday night, then I went home to watch the Bears dominate with my dad.

AMC was working from the same films that TCM basically has exclusive rights to. So when TCM expanded its market, they started turning AMC down.
Therefore, AMC had to completely retool their line, going instead to "pop" classics.
They've been like that for a few years now. It's a shame, though. It's an awful network now.

The only thing I wish TCM would take from AMC's playbook is some more original programming--I wouldn't mind having an hour long show devoted to classic film conversation on a weekend, or something like that--something like AMC's Sunday Morning Shootout.

Wow, you go to bed shocked someone doesn't get your sarcasm. You wake up, teach a class, turn on the computer, and find they've a)been rejected by a girl online (which is to say a stranger didn't respond to an instant message as far as I could tell), b)handled it poorly, c)been banned.

Your posts lack any clear form of communication. It's impossible to hold a conversation when one of the people (you) can't form a coherent sentence. There isn't even the slightest attempt at proper spelling, capitalization or punctuation in your posts. They make no sense. Yup, I started reading Ex Machina and Y about 6 months ago and now I'm reading it all. And I'm pushing Y onto all of my non-comic-reading friends.
I know this kind of forethought and premeditation seems unlikely coming from Cure, but could it be possible that Cure registered a new account in anticipation of the banning?
Y is probably my favorite book. I love it to death. Everybody shoud read it. I forced my ex to read it and she's hooked now.
Runaways is a little gem as well.
I can't wait to see what's his new projects are about, with Y wrapping up soon.
About cure, it's possible. But we'll find out pretty soon. Just look for the silliest and stupidiest posts ever.

I'm willing to bet good money he created another account as a means of getting more attention. Turned out to be a good fail safe. I doubt he's cunning enough to create one in anticipation of banning. Someone like me, on the other hand, I've already got my secondary account set up. I'm just not going to tell you what the name is.

I keep shifting my players every time I hit an access point.
The FF combo annoys me.
I think I'm going to play with Iron Man, Spidey, Deadpool and Ms. Marvel.
FF rocks, I restarted the whole game with them. Human Torch rocks at least, once you get the Inferno power.

Whenever I think of the myriad of Dylan tunes I love, this one comes to mind first:
You may be an ambassador to England or France,
You may like to gamble, you might like to dance,
You may be the heavyweight champion of the world,
You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
You might be a rock 'n' roll addict prancing on the stage,
You might have drugs at your command, women in a cage,
You may be a business man or some high degree thief,
They may call you Doctor or they may call you Chief
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
You may be a state trooper, you might be a young Turk,
You may be the head of some big TV network,
You may be rich or poor, you may be blind or lame,
You may be living in another country under another name
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
You may be a construction worker working on a home,
You may be living in a mansion or you might live in a dome,
You might own guns and you might even own tanks,
You might be somebody's landlord, you might even own banks
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
You may be a preacher with your spiritual pride,
You may be a city councilman taking bribes on the side,
You may be workin' in a barbershop, you may know how to cut hair,
You may be somebody's mistress, may be somebody's heir
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
Might like to wear cotton, might like to wear silk,
Might like to drink whiskey, might like to drink milk,
You might like to eat caviar, you might like to eat bread,
You may be sleeping on the floor, sleeping in a king-sized bed
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
You may call me Terry, you may call me Timmy,
You may call me Bobby, you may call me Zimmy,
You may call me R.J., you may call me Ray,
You may call me anything but no matter what you say
You're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody.
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

Oh, Dylan FAQ.
The band Nine Days had a song where they quoted Dylan (even used some samples).
I thought it was kind of pointless, some punk emo band thinking they're on par with Bob Dylan. Ha!

I like being submissive.
The tricky part is when I forget the safety word.
I try to make it simple.
Usually it's "OH MY F- YOU CUT IT OFF YOU PSYCHO!"
Okay, so it's more of a safety phrase really...

The most annoying thing I heard was at the Kennedy Center Honors, when a Gospel singer performed that, and she CHANGES THE FREAKING LYRICS TO "It maybe the devil, PLEASE be the Lord!," which totally changes the song, in my book!!

It's pretty cool. It also is some of the first work for Dermot Mulroney (sp?) and Sean Astin. Directed by Lee Grant.
What I liked most is that it gives a good picture about what a "true" Southern family (from my experience, anyway) is like....dealing with problems and the little bumps in life. Besides, I'm in it (playing the drums in a bar) briefly. No autographs, please. :D

Yeah. That song was written by Dylan shortly after his conversion to Christianity, but I'm not crazy about re-writes of any song really. The same can be said of Hendrix' "Dolly Dagger". Fergit who changed the lyrics, but it was done to make the song more "radio friendly" back in the day.

On another note, I've totally screwed up my Fanal Fantasy Tactics game,
I "ramped up" my character, not realizing the program ramps up the opposition. The problem is, the other members of my team are around levels 15-20, but have to fight level 40 "bad guys" (my main character is level 40).
I'm such a moron
Probably have to start over.
I've seen this happen when recruiting high-level monsters, suddenly the random encounters get a lot nastier. Storyline battles shouldn't change, though, and your other characters will level up faster when fighting enemies that are higher levels.

Dylan's first Christian album was awesome.
His second was less so.
His third was a mixture of Christian and secular, and it was pretty good.
Then he was pretty much done. :)
The first one had a great tune that demonstrates the old adage that all great Christian pop songs work as either songs dedicated to Jesus or as romantic songs, "I Believe In You," which is about a woman chastigated for her belief in Jesus, but the songs works as a romance song just as well.
