Current theory: Members drawn to this Joker avatar are prone to broad generalizations, false dichotomies, arrogance, misogyny, insults, and ignorance.
It's been about five minutes since I've switched to the Avatar of the Damned. No side effects so far. I don't feel any different; still rather rational, if somewhat bully-ish.

You're making a broad generalization. That's rather arrogant of you.
You chose to use the avatar. So you were "drawn to it". Yet you find yourself different. A false dichotomy.
It's possible there are some who would be insulted to hear that you've prejudged them based on their avatar.
You seem to be ignorant of these symptoms you're displaying.

I've got something to say I raped your mother today, doesn't matter much to as long as she's spread."

Yeah, I feel the wrong things are being argued there. They can cut out all the crap about what drives technological development and the nature of composition. They'll find there's simple ethical differences underlying everything. I had my fun last night, so I'm done with it though.

morna

an annealer is a kiln expressly used to cool glass down from hot hot working temperatures to room temp. I am a glass artist and I make blown glass pieces with paintings (usually abstract) encased within clear glass... among other stuff.

Thanks howy! yes, yes there is... there's significance to everything in these paintings. I don't like to translate for people tho' 'cause it keeps them from inventing their own stories and meanings. Which is, I think one of the most rewarding things about abstract painting. It's too bad there's such a limited audience for abstract work. People seem to rather have things all spelled out to them and not have to use their imagination when viewing a work of art. sigh [/end rant]

*sigh* See, that's why I wish I was a guy sometimes. Guys have "real fun", whereas if a bunch of girls rented a cabin, it would just be a boring "lets experience nature" kind of deal, and neverending giggle fest over things they bought at the local shop. Girl "fun" is boring. LOL. (unless it's a bunch of lesbians or bi women who rented a cabin instead of straight women. That could be fun) I know, I'm generalizing, but I have yet to meet a straight woman who'd enjoy the same kind of things I enjoy as far as activities besides shopping.
I really hate being a girl sometimes. Guys know how to have REAL fun. That's why I don't have many female friends. They'd rather go shopping and do "sensible" things instead of all the "stupid fun" things guys do. That's why I click better with guys and have more fun with them. Guys are always up for fun no matter what. All a guy friend has to do to pull me out of a funk is to ask me if I want to watch porn with him, or check out women somewhere, or just do something crazy, and that always works. I know my "manbashing" in that other thread a week ago may not seem like it, but I think guys are awesome. See what a difference a few days make? I love men today. Men are the best. I love "guy fun".

What exactly is the origin of Russian Roulette?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Roulette
Legends abound regarding the invention of Russian roulette. Most of these, predictably, take place in Russia, or occur among Russian soldiers.
In one legend, 19th century Russian prisoners were forced to play the game while the prison guards bet on the outcome. In another version, desperate and suicidal officers in the Russian army played the game to impress each other.
The earliest known use of the term is from "Russian Roulette", a short story by Georges Surdez in the January 30, 1937, issue of Collier's Magazine.

You still get the pretty pictures.True. But cameras can't fully capture what we see with the naked eye.

I'm just not a nature person. The tradeoffs of not having to travel, put up with crowds, insects, bad weather and so forth are well worth it for me. I get to see the pictures of the snow without experiencing all the effects of the snow, such as with driving conditions, fogged up glasses, getting cold.

We got more snow last night than we've had in years! Most winters we don't even get a snowfall that stays on the ground. Walking to work this morning was a beautiful experience.

Speaking of that book, has anybody else read Barry Ween?
There's an issue where an alien disguised as Ricky Shroeder (from the Silver Spoons era) told a girl that that was his favorite book.
More than a little odd.

It's been about five minutes since I've switched to the Avatar of the Damned. No side effects so far. I don't feel any different; still rather rational, if somewhat bully-ish.
You should all switch to Ambush Bug avatars. Everything's much clearer.

Everything about Barry Ween was more than a little odd. But man, what a great book. Too bad Winick couldn't write his way out of a nutsack right now.

I gave Outsiders a go. I really wanted to like it.
I just couldn't get into it.
The only Winnick work I've really liked has been Barry Ween and Exiles.

If you liked Barry, you should read Frumpy the Clown. Every bit as fun. But yeah, once Winick started writing superhero books, his writing gradually became worse. I loved his Exiles (still the best work that book's seen, hands down), and his Green Lantern was what made me stop wanting to hate Kyle. After Judd started writing him, I thought the book was almost as good as it was when Hal was my Green Lantern. But Outsiders, the majority of his run on Batman, and now Trials of SHAZAM. It's like he's trying to suck.

Outsiders is so bad.
It truly is. Although I go back and forth on whether it's worse than Teen Titans. It certainly has worse art, but is that distracting me?
Barry Ween is so good.

Teen Titans has Miss Martian, which is such a good character Grant Morrison could have invented her.

Was that a jokey-joke? 'Cause, given how much of a hand Mr. Morrison's had in everything OYL, odds are he probably did.
