So those guys and gals that put out our comics every month, what do we call them?

Are they 'writers' and 'artists' because they write the stories and create the artwork that tells stories about characters and concepts that were given birth by the only people who deserve the title 'creator'?

Are they 'creators' because they're creating new stories and artwork about these characters?

Is this just a silly argument over semantics or is it something important?

Thoughts? Opinions?

I think together they're creators.

I always call them creators - and my wife cringes every time I do

I'm not sure why she hates the term

I use "Writers" and "artists," unless I'm specifically talking about the dude who invented a certain character, location, or situation.

I don't see any point in distinguishing between the two.

Writers and artists, though I don't think it's a big deal either way.

I always say creative team. So I guess that natural extension of that would be creators.

I use both, interchangably and unpredictably. I'll often shout it during sex...

Okay, not really. But I do use both terms.

I use both. I just think of Writers and Artist as more specific term than creator. To me, creator is just a general term to describe someone who creates comic book. Because both Writers and Artist have such an impact on comic books it is almost unfair to not have a term to describe them both.

Only the creative ones are creators.

It's a silly argument over semantics.

They're all creators in their own ways.

I don't think there is a "The" Creator, because the term is broad to too many different roles.
