Okay I just got an iPod nano and am using the Apple supplied earbuds. I have been less than impressed with the sound quality at first...though it did take me 3 days to figure out there are Equalizer settings that improve the sound quality somewhat. Rightnow my favorite setting is "Pop". I listen to mostly rock music, but I find the "rock" settings drown the vocals. Pop is my favorite so far.
What do you use?

Nuthin'. Using the eq drains the battery faster, and can cause distortion in the sound.

I still find that the audio quality on the iPod is a bit rubbish though.

I find it funny that listening to head phones on iTunes is a pretty good audio experience, but an iPod leaves something to be desired.

I rarely use it. Unless there's a specific song or artist that I love to hear with a different setting, it's pretty useless. I stopped using the iPod earbuds a few days after I got them, so sound quality isn't really an issue anymore.

I don't ever adjust the equaliser settings, but I hated the earbuds (they hurt my ears) so I got a sweet set of Sennheiser headphones. MUCH better!
