In looking for a copy of The Further Adventures of Batman I came across a couple of other recent Batman novels; Batman: Inferno by Alex Irvine and Batman: Dead White by John Shirley.

Has anyone read these? If so, what did you think? The reviews on Amazon seem pretty positive, I'm considering ordering them for some Christmas break reading but wanted to know if it'll be worth my time or are these just terrible?

Read 'em both, liked 'em both. Nothing extraordinary mind you, but still readable. These books are sort of a spinoff from Batman Begins, and are rooted in the depiction of the Darknight that we saw in the recent film, rather than the monthly comic books.

I was in the middle of the first one an misplaced the book ((DEAD WHITE)).Its pretty good definatly in contunity with BEGINS more then any other form of Batman. It carries a bit of the gritty realism from the movie into this story.I would say its more of a crime noir novel featuring Batman then a super hero pulp fiction.Over all enjoyable read IF you liked Batman Begins an don't mind reading something that maintains its theme an feel

Thanks for the heads up guys. I think that if I get a chance I'll probably check these out.

Does Batman do any actual detective work in either of these books? Do they follow Batman Begins very closely? Will I see a tumbler and Lucious FOx figuring stuff out for Batman and the glider cape?
