View Full Version : what dc mini series would you like to be converted to a movie?

well i didnt see a thread of something like this and i posted it.

i really think it would be cool make Kingdom come to a movie, it has a great story and a lot of fighting scenes, and the conflict between "traditional" superheroes, such as Superman, Wonder Woman and the Justice League.

Live-action, or animated? They're already planning a bunch of animated movies about runs on books or mini-series. In both cases, my answer's New Frontier.

The Dark Knight Returns, Watchmen, The Cult, Infinite Crisis, and Villains United.

Seven Soldiers would make a coolass set of animated movies if they gave Morrison full directorial authority.

i know its not a miniseries, but the superman vs the elite issues would ROCK

but the sins of youth storyline in JLA would rock

Watchmen as an animated mini-series by HBO

Kingdom Come as an animated mini-series by HBO

Golden Age

Cosmic Odyssey

The first story arc of JSA

Without a doubt, The Dark Knight Returns.
I would say Watchmen too....but I don't trust hollywood not to mess it up and ruin it for me.

11-05-2006, 09:19 PM
Cosmic Odyssey
Secret Six (current)
Death - the High Cost of Living

11-06-2006, 10:47 AM
I'd like to see the Long Halloween as an animated movie... Seven Soldiers would be pretty good too.

11-06-2006, 12:30 PM
Hey would have to be animated tv mini series on HBO! Were else can you see superman and Wonderwoman having, mountain smashing, tidal wave causing super powered super sex! {DK2} and Superman telling his daughter [Never with a mortal...their to fragile!}

I'd like to see the Long Halloween as an animated movie... Seven Soldiers would be pretty good too.

Long Halloween would be a really good one.

But I vote 52 as the longest movie EVER!!!!

Or how about checkmate. Would make a fun movie.

Spanner's Galaxy for a sci-fi flick.
Jonni Thunder for a little mystery/sci-fi.
Cinder & Ashe would look good in the screen.
Justice Inc. for the government conspiracy genre.
The Human Target (Vertigo and non-Vertigo version) for the thriller/action movie.

Death - the High Cost of Living

That one is happening

Person Man
11-07-2006, 05:13 AM
Crisis on Infinite Earths?

Magnificent Bastard
11-07-2006, 05:42 PM
The Losers

Red Son (yeah, I know its a 1 shot)

11-07-2006, 06:18 PM
That one is happening

yay! It (Death - The High Cost of Living) was a great little story, and would translate well to the home TV setting.

Red Son (yeah, I know its a 1 shot)

Red Son was a 3 issue Prestige format miniseries

Girl by Peter Milligan. It would be the ultimate girls own adventure movie.

I cannot express how much I love this story.

Kingdom Come. That is, perhaps, the Strongest superhero story I've ever read. The art, the story, the setting, all of it just...words cannot say how much I love this story. Live action for this. And if it were done right I would see this movie, literally, hundreds of times in theaters.

Anybody I let read this is just awestruck. And it's not the photorealistic art that gets them either. It's the story. That says alot, considering my parents don't read comics but when I let them read this they were amazed at how much they got into the story. My mom would come to me after every chapter(issue) and ask 'is batman gonna be bad?' and my dad would come out of nowhere with 'wonder woman is such a Bi***'. They really got into it so I think if so many non-comic fans enjoy it as a comic, then it would be really succesfull in the theaters.

I'm going to say Dark Knight Returns, and Arkham Asylum.

Tony Starkz
11-09-2006, 07:58 PM
Golden Age
Kingdom Come
New Frontier
JLA Year One (animated for sure)

11-11-2006, 10:57 PM
I would like to see a "Question" movie.

11-12-2006, 07:50 AM
I would like to see a "Question" movie.

Also, I'd like to see 52 adapted as a sort of thriller/mystery series, ala "Lost" or "Heroes".

11-12-2006, 07:33 PM
Legion Lost

I'd like to see the Denny O'Neill/Denys Cowan the Question series of the 80's turned into a TV show! I think Rick Hoffman (http://imdb.com/name/nm0389069/) would be an ideal choice for the lead!

11-13-2006, 12:00 AM
Emerald Twilight ;)

11-13-2006, 01:33 AM
The Human Defence Corps.

Whatever happened to those guys anyway?

11-13-2006, 04:50 PM

Just change the ending to lose the R/T WAR link.

11-14-2006, 01:09 AM
i would really like to see the death of superman in a movie, but not like a bryan's singer movie, maybe more like a burton's couse its more dark and i think it would have more action that a singer's movie

11-14-2006, 07:41 AM
Villians United and Green Lantern: Rebirth are the first to pop into my head

11-15-2006, 01:44 PM
JLA: Year one, and Emerald Dawn.

11-15-2006, 06:07 PM
The following would make brilliant movies IMHO

1) The Golden Age (live action)
2) Watchmen (either way)
3) Kingdom Come (Animated)
4) New Frontier (Animated)
5) Dark Knight Returns (live action)
6) JLA: Year One (Animated)
7) Suicide Squad (Animated Series)
8) Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn I and II (live action)
9) JUSTICE (Animated)
10) Cosmic Odyssey (Animated)
11) Batman: The Long Halloween
12) JLA: The Nail (Animated)
13) Books of Magic (the pre Harry Potter magic student)

*And it's never gonna happen but CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS would be a treat as a cartoon.

"Dark Knight Returns" was already covered (sorta);
in "Batman: The Animated Series">"Legends Of The Dark Knight">4/26/2001
It even had "Don" & "Rob"
(Thank you, TiVo)

I thought, it may have sparked enough interest to get the ball rolling,
but it seems to have died there...

12-12-2006, 05:04 PM
Camelot 3000
The Golden Age

12-12-2006, 06:06 PM
New Frontier
The Golden Age
Kingdom Come
Joe Kelly's Space Ghost
Sandman Mystery Theatre

Green Lantern wannabe
12-13-2006, 12:03 AM
The Watchmen would be good; but Infinite Crisis would be too complicated for the general movie-viewing audience, since they wouldn't know of the complexities of the DC multiverse (TWO Supermen???).

12-13-2006, 12:51 AM

btw when is the second volume is coming out ???

12-14-2006, 05:42 AM
If we're talking one of their straight-to-video animated features, I'd love to see them do ANY JSA story.

1) the modern JSA
2) The Golden Age
3) some new version just for the video

I thought I'd see more requests for
"Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth"
I'd vote this to be the next Bale "Batman"...
