In Batgirl #45 Soul
Barbara says that she was 18 when her career starts as Batgirl i quote: Are you kidding ? of course i miss it some days i'd give anything i the world to be 18 again.
So that means she was also 18 in Batgirl year one.Wright???

I would assume that that means that either Cassandra is eighteen in that issue or that Barbara was eighteen when she was at her peak in crime-fighting. Maybe it's a little bit of both.

I would think that this quote refers to Cassandra's current age of 18, not that Barbara was 18 when she became Batgirl. Barbara has always been portrayed as not becoming Batgirl until after she graduated college. Though it was stated in Batgirl: Year One that she skipped a few grades and graduated college early, I think she still would have been older than 18.

That bit is pretty clear. It is your actual quesytion that may need a bit clarification.

No. It means the author of Soul thought that Babs was 18 when she got started.

Chuck Dixon may have stated or intended differently when writing Batgirl Year One.

Someone else may have written her as being yet another age in another book.

And someone might put out a comic in the next few weeks giving yet another age.

You're trying to nail down something that different people writing her may disagree on.

I don’t think it means that she was actually 18 when she started but more that she was younger. I take it as another version of “Ahh to be 16 and young again.”
