I really don't have much to say about this except that I wish this was an ongoing... I know it'll be wrapped up in 5, and probably come to a definitive conclusion, but I'll be damned if this isn't the war comic I've been waiting to read for years.
During the 60s/70s, I was weened on the same war books that are so prevalent in this issue. But the take on how the soldiers differentiate true life vs. fiction is absolutely excellent. I felt the pang of reality.
And the jawless "ghost"... even if it isn't, it's definitely brings to mind the shadow of Weird War Tales.
This story will weigh on you, especially if you remember the Vietnam years. And the artwork? Absolutely fantastic.
I couldn't give this book a higher recommendation.
Read it.
Feel it.
Experience it.
