To the shock of really no one , Courtney Love has sold her portion of the music rights of Nirvana so she could pocket some millions. Love sold her portion of the catalouge of Cobain's music so expect Nirvana songs to be featured in movies and starting next month on an episode of CSI:Miami.

Loyal toady manager Pete Asher had this to say: "The desicions we make regarding licensing have nothing to do with money one way or another. Its a matter of , is this a cool show ? Is this a movie we'd like to be a part of ? If its a tiny indepenadnt movie and it makes sense then they can use a song for little or nothing ."

Of course this has nothing to do with the fact Love was broke as hell of course. This is the woman who sold Kurt's " Journals " to make a quick buck years ago and continues to pretty much be what everyone always knew.

Groul and Novelsic have said she's only concerned with money ect ect. With her singing career and movie career up shit creek I suppose milking Kurt Cobain's corpse is what she'll do as a career . ( can't wait to see her make a perfume ad with Kurt's music in the background)

Cobain owned most of the the publishing rights to the music, which puts Love in a very powerful position when it comes to Nirvana.

So the answer is probably no.

How do you think she can afford her drug habits?

AND, she has a kid to think of...kind of...poor child.

Isn't Frances Bean with Kurt's Mom still?

Courtney was in Sid & Nancy years ago, and she's become the "fabulous disaster" herself. The mention of her name, brings to mind an interview with her Dad from Kurt & Courtney. He said that when she came to live with him, as a teen, there were three rules:

She couldn't bring her junkie friends over.

She couldn't shoot up in the house.

She couldn't turn tricks in the house.

She broke all 3 rules.

I thought they sounded pretty reasonable, myself; but then I'm not a junkie-ho'!

Basically, don't shit where you eat. That does seem fair. To say nothing of johns who are usually more than willing to settle for the back seats of their cars.

Back in 2002 the LLC agreement meant that Novelsic, Groul and Love all had equal votes in Nirvana's business. Love however got angry when she couldn't barter a deal to be in Moulin Rouge and use " Smells Like Teen Spirit " in that. Both members shot it down as well as other cash schemes like wanting Nirvana songs on popular movie soundtracks.

She took them to court in an effort to stop production on the planned Nirvana Box Set. In Chris N's eyes this was a project 2 years in the making and that it would have takes of songs done differently , new material not released and have " You Know Your Right " on it.

Love sued claiming that the song was a potential 10 to 12 million album seller if it was released as a single. Her lawyer/agent one contended that thinking and since all 3 LLC have to be in agreement to issue an album the judge allowed it to be halted.

In Groul's words: " She came into Universial and we all had agreed on the Box Set. Then she demanded a $ 3 million record contract for Hole. A $ 1 Million video contract and all. "

Chris N in the interview finally concluded : " Were tired of dealing with Courtney. Everywhere she goes its some huge drama. Its been like that for years. "

Love however fired back claiming Cobain's parents supported her stance. Nevermind that Cobain was never close with them and chose once to live under a bridge than go home. Its said Cobain and his mother were never close so its wierd to see them side with Love on that.

The final agreement ( settled outta court) gave Love more power in all. But the 2 other members held on to some rights. Now with Love sold out I'm sure the 2 members are happy since they wanted her outta the picture due to her behavior. ( whats funny is in a court filing attorney's for Groul and Chris N tried to have Love take a mental health test lol)
