We have the worst, but now, which is the best? I have posted the "Worst of the worst", but, which is the best Spidey story you have ever read/seen/etc. ever? We are counting down the top 50 best Spidey stories ever to be written down on a comic book/broadcasted in an animated series/live action series.
50. ASM #1
It might not be the best, but this is Spidey's first, ever, super villain (you heard me, super villain), its a classic.

I don't know if I would classify it as a Spidey story but since it happened in his title I will, Kraven's Last Hunt. More of a Kraven story but he is a Spidey character and it did happen in Spidey's book.

I did a similar list on this board a while back.

Aside from historical significance, what's so good about ASM #1?
I'm pretty sure there are 50 better stories (many of which are both excellent and significant. ie- Amazing Fantasy #15, Amazing Spider-Man #39-40, etc..)

Oops?
And #1 was actually much more appealing to me than #15 (featuring Peter with a fishing net), especially with Chameleon's framing (first framing!) and his first appearance.

While I like the idea of this thread, I am a bit confused...are you trying to form a worst to best list (like a Top 10), or just 50 stories that are good? Because if its the former, this doesn't seem the most accurate way to achieve it.

Erm, nah, its the latter because if its the former...boy, I don't think I can handle the pressure...

Are you counting down 50?? Or we just post ours. We should have a vote on this like the top 50 artists/Avengers/Writers thread.

Since this is just 50 great stories, and not "Top 50":
The story that brought me into Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage. It was so much fun. And looking back on Bagley's art now really brings in some good ol' nostolgia.
#49 Maximum Carnage

Actually, it is Top 50.
So how's it supposed to work?
Are you going to post your Top 50 in countdown order?
Or do you want to invite others to post something from their Top 50?
In that case, how does the countdown order go?
Do the others just post a story they think is better than the previous selections?
How do we determine what's #1, as opposed to #3?

Actually, it is Top 50.
It won't work that way. I want Maximum Carnage to be in the top twelve, at least, but most people would disagree with me. Therefore, how could this be a "top 50" without a poll?

Alright you know what? I give up, you people are tougher to handle than I imagine.

#20 - Planet of the Symbiotes
It's interesting. A lot of people nowadays are derisive of the time that Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider were both running around, and I think that often blinds them to the high level of stories that occured during this time period (albeit a short time period).
This one is probably the best of the bunch, as Peter and Ben are forced to team up with Eddie Brock to face a legion of the symbiotes from their homeworld.
It had action, adventure and a high deal of human emotion.
A total classic. I don't want to reach TOO far, though, so I think at the back of the Top Twenty is enough.
