"Flamenco
Lambada
But hip hop is harder
We moonwalk the foxtrot
And polka the salsa "

from that Spice Up Your Life song, one thing i liked about it was that third paragraph of the song, where each one of them has a single line. Ginger Spice was the eldest, so she went first, followed by Sporty, then Scary, then Posh, then ending with Baby who was the youngest. I thought it was supposed to be in order from oldest to youngest. But Scary did her line before Posh, and Posh is older.

Here is what part of that verse each girl sang:

"Flamenco (Ginger)
Lambada (Sporty)
But hip hop is harder (Scary)
We moonwalk the foxtrot (Posh)
And polka the salsa " (Baby)

and here's the music video again for that song:

You know what I like about the Spice Girls?

I haven't heard any of their crappy songs since 1999.

I aim to keep it that way.

I'm thinking medication is in order here.

What? Not for HIM, for ME! :)

Didn't know you had a thing for Ginger too dox.

Perhaps you and GSG should form some sorta tribute band. ;)

Talk about an eye for detail. The only Spice Girls song i liked was Holler because it had an R&B thing going on.

I wonder what Holler Spice would look like. I can guess what she would sound like.
Their movie was great to get drunk to.

I had a thing for her. That's why I need the medication.

Disregarding the stalkerishness of the poster for a brief second, one must wonder, why is this on the Comm board and not the Music board?

It's the nature of the performance, I think.

No, not *that* performance, *this* one.

Personally, I liked The Fly. Sure, he was a take on many teenage male superheros that came before him (even if he was a remake of an earlier version), but I had almost every issue. Hey, he got his powers from a fly in amber! How wacky is that?

Oh The Fly was grand. Parobeck art. Loved Parobeck. Such a loss. I loved his former-spy grandad and the whole mysterious teacher thing.

I also enjoyed The Comet, even if Tom Lyle's art was kind of stiff. it's interesting to note that Mark Waid began every issue with "I'm Rob Conners... The Comet", a variation of what would become his standard lead-in, "I'm Wally West, The Flash, the Fastest Man Alive". I like that the book had a set ending and was miffed when they brough the character back (of course, by then most of the fun had gone out of the line).

My dream job would be to work on a further update of the MLJ characters.

Paul McCartney wishes he could write something like Spice Up Your Life. Then he'd have enough money to hire a hitman to whack Heather Mills.

If there is a MOD, then this should be thrown as well...far away.

I never got into The Comet. Not that I didn't like it, but I never picked it up for some reason. The Web never excited me either. I tried out The Crusaders, but wow, that was bad. At least, I don't remember liking it, but I do remember a character called Fireball from Mississippi. I think it might have been the first time I ever saw a comic book character from my home state.

Looking up The Fly on Wikipedia, I saw this part of this entry:

"He fought flying thieves, mechanical spiders, and the occasional crimelord, and defeated them all. But he found himself in a sticky situation when his pendant was ripped off in a battle, but he did not lose his powers. He couldn't return home, since even when he took off his costume, he still looked like a muscular adult with fly-like eyes. He got a job as a bouncer in a bar (calling himself "Buzz") for a few days until he found his pendant. He joined the Crusaders, and when they got lost in another dimension, he spent years there with his teammates and fell in love with the Jaguar. When they finally returned, the Fly married the Jaguar."

Without a note of sarcasm at all, that sounds awesome.

(have we succinctly drifted this thread now?)

Those !mpact comics were all alot of fun, I remember thinking that the Web was kinda neat and I really liked the Fly and Comet but by far my favourite of those titles was THe Black Hood.

So they spent years of the comic in another dimension, or did !mpact do one year later before the X-men and then DC did it?

I wish we had another new upstart publisher.
Life was fun with Crossgen - tehy could've had staying power if not for the rapid expansion, and the descent into crossovers.

Change that Crossgen with both D.C. and Marvel. I remember a time before crossovers...I was happy then.

But Crossgen had more than just superheroes.

It's like the ould have been Marvel and DC, back when Marvel and DC were making money out of comics, not out of toys based on them.
