I've been desperately wanting this series on DVD for years now! Finally, two years ago, I obtained a single DVD bootleg at a comic convention and watched it religiously until the poor quality DVD stopped playing correctly. Now I'm stuck again. As far as I know, there are no plans to release it legally, and I have no idea where to find a bootleg copy either. I'm not even sure the episodes were ever released legally on VHS. Is there ANY way to obtain a viewing copy of this series? I'm open to all suggestions.

I have no doubt you can buy tapes of the classic Batman series on VHS and DVD. WHERE to find those bootleg tapes is another question.
I doubt we will see a major release of Batman for years. Time Warner (who owns Batman) and the company that owns the original 1960s series are at constant odds over ownership of the series. It has gone on for years, and sounds like they will never be able to come to an agreement.
I would also scan through TV channels, because Batman appears every once in a while in syndication. TV Land has shown the series several times through the years.

If it's not out on legit DVDs, just look online on bit torrent distribution sites or on peer to peer networks. I found a few eps randomly on Direct Connect ++ hubs.
If they ever do come out with the DVDs, I'd like to pick them up.

You can get all 4? complete seasons with a bittorrent.
They are not very good quality, though. It's almost as if every other frame is missing, so it gets a bit jumpy.
That's about it as far as I know.
