When is a Black Sabbath reunion not a reunion? Apparently when the singer is Ronnie James Dio and not Ozzy Osbourne. The Dio-Iommi-Butler-Ward (I think) lineup will be touring next year under the name "Heaven and Hell". While I wasn't as big a Sabbath fan of the Dio led group as I was of the Ozzy fronted band, they did put out some good stuff, and I wouldn't be too awfully suprised if the tour wasn't a huge success.

With Ozzy, it's a touring joke.
With Dio, it's a band that isn't a source of ridicule.

What's Ozzy like on tour?
I encountered him one day, VERY briefly, while having pizza on Sawtelle, which apparently, isn't too far from his recording studio. I was sitting on the patio, with some other guy whom I don't know. This British guy came walking up with what looked like the Crypt Keeper in corn rows, who began muttering something at us. It was completely unintelligible. Then, the obviously British guy, said in a Cockney accent, "What E wants ta know is..." That's when the realization that this bloodless, tattooed, shell of a man was, "the Prince of #()%ing Darkness!" The other guy had an answer, so I just went back to having my pizza, and the guy answered the questions that had been translated from vegetable to Cockney, in American English.

Unlike Van Halen/Van Hager, I love both Ozzy & Dio eras of Sabbath.

That's good news. I hope they come here.
What's Ozzy like on tour?
I saw him back in the late 80s and he was pretty good. Now he needs monitors with the song lyrics scrolling so I would imagine it's like seeing Ozzy sing Sabbath karaoke.

Given what I met, that makes sense.

Brought this back from the dead, just to say that I just read a statemant at ozzfest.com/ozzy.com, in which said tour will be IOMMI/DIO, and not SABBATH/DIO. Sabbath is returning next year with a tour and a new album.
