Last Friday, I had a phone interview with Tad Stones and my intentions were far different than would usually be expected when it comes to a guy who's brought Hellboy into animation.

I knew about all that. But I wanted to know more about his Disney career because while it's known what modern Disney men like John Musker, Ron Clements, Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise have done for the studio, guys like Tad Stones don't reach that level of curiosity or scrutiny, at least not among people other than animation fans. So that was part of my intention for this interview. But rest assured that I tied all of that into Hellboy and it has become one of my favorite interviews. Tad was literate, candid, enthusiastic, and just the kind of person you'd want to get to know more about beyond what you read, or just to hang out with.
