About 10 years ago a friend of mine went to a comic book show and bought me this collection of comics. It consists of the following:

Newstime: The Life and Death of the Man of Steel--World Without a Superman (autographed by Roger Stern and Dennis Rodier with handwritten 4896/5000)

The Death of Superman (autographed by Jackson Guice and hand numbered 4896/5000)

Back From the Dead?! The Adventures of Superman (still in white sealed plastic cover with red Superman Logo on plastic...obviously no sig)

Superman: The Man of Tomorrow is Back! (Autographed by Brett Breeding and hand numbered 4896/5000)

Superman: The Metropolis Kid is Back! (no sigs)

Superman: The Last Son of Krypton is Back! (no sigs)

Superman: The Man of Steel is Back! (no sigs)

Comes with a certificate of authenticity numbered at 4896 from Dynamic Forces Inc.

Maybe some of you out there have this same set...any idea what it is worth? I am not much of a comic book collector and do not have the slightest clue what this is valued at. All the books are in Mint condition...

Thanks in advance for any help!!

I have the same set you are mentioning. I recieved mine from my parents for a Christmas gift. It was originally sold on QVC I think, Or some other Television shopping channel. They had a time of the week called comic book night. I cant give any info on how much it is worth, I dont know myself but have recently been looking for info. Do you happen to know how much your friend paid for it? I am curious. My guess is it originally sold for about $100.00. However I am not sure of this.

It's difficult to say. The autograph copies will be worth something since there is generally value in that. However, I don't think it'll be super high since Guice and Breeding who signed the comics are still alive. You might get something more with the Newstime special since only so many copies were made and sold. I saw a copy of "Legacy Of Superman" at a comic store that was signed by Dan Jurgens and Curt Swan, go for close to a hundred dollars. But I think that owes more towards Swan, who passed on in 1996.

The ones that don't have a signature will only be anywhere from twenty five cents to a dollar. Even if it's bagged and in mint condition.

The OP was posted nearly 6 years ago. He probably already sold it by now.
