I'm trying to track down an issue of Detective Comics or Batman (not sure which).

This is what I remember about it:

Nightwing makes an appearance in the issue.

Jim Aparo was the artist (and yes I realize that narrows it down so much...)

Anyway the story takes place after the second Robin was killed by the Joker and I believe Batman has "recruited" the third Robin... it's possible the third Robin isn't actually his partner yet though, the details are a little fuzzy. (Sorry I can't remember which is which... Jason Todd or Tim Drake)

If memory serves there is no fighting bad guys in this issue... it's basically a conversation b/w Nightwing and Batman, with Batman in the end admitting he recruited the new Robin because he was lonely.

Not that much information but if anybody can help me with the issue number and title I would be most thankful.

Or if anybody knows an index of issues that they could point me to, I could always try to get it that way.

thx

It's not around the time of the A Lonely Place Of Dying story is it. That occured around Batman 436-440 I think.

It kind of sounds like Batman #416, but that issue takes place after Batman recruited the second Robin (Jason Todd). Nightwing meets Jason for the first time at the beginning of the issue. Nightwing and Batman then have a confrontation in the batcave, where Batman finally admits that he recruited Jason because he was lonely and missed Nightwing.
