Hello everyone. My friend brought the Justice League Heroes game for PS2. Took us about two days to beat (7-8 hours of gameplay a day).

My Review:

The game is great and I specially liked using Green Lantern and Zatanna. The voice acting was all right (Batman sounded like a smartass Wolverine) other than that, it was fine. They didn't use any of the JLU voice actors. The story is like a big three-parter JLU Episode with major villains. Many unlockables like costumes and other characters.

There are also character specific situations which is cool. (i.e. Team must get through a big fan so Flash has to charge past it and turn off the console that runs it on the other side)

Only a few flaws in this one. When you're both playing Green Lanterns, its easy to confuse each other sometimes, so you and your friend may get a bit frustrated. When you're Batman or Zatanna, its hard to see them in the dark. A few phrases or two from the cinematics that seems out of character.

Overall, a great game to play even if you're not a hardcore JLA reader. In every boss fight and some level situations, my friend and I had to talk and make plans/strategies to get through which makes it fun and challenging, so its not just hack and slash. You can make the specifications of the heroes, (i.e. making this power more powerful, longer duration, etc. more ranks on this power, etc.) as they gain levels.

Buy or Rent? I say Buy. Even after beating the game, you can restart with your previously leveled characters on a different difficulty setting (which is what we're doing) so it makes up for good replay value.

(My next review will be Marvel Ultimate Alliance for PS2, I'll post it on the Marvel forums after beating it next week.)

(Please feel free to leave questions and comments! )

So are there differences in the GLs or do they all have the same attacks?

16 hours seems a bit short. How many unlockables are there? like tons of costumes? unlockable characters? Powers?

Oh and how limited is the GL im just wondering because I thought it would be hard implementing the ring into a game, so can you only do a select few things with the ring? or can you unlock more things to create

There are different GLs: Jon, Kyle and Hal but they all have the same attacks.

Lots of costumes like Superman's black recovery costume, Wonder Woman's white ceremonial outfit, Zatanna's Identity Crisis look and more. Unlockable characters include Aquaman, Hawkgirl, Huntress, Green Arrow, Kyle Rayner, Hal Jordan. Powers are unlockable as you level and gain Rank points to put into them.

GL's powers are awesome! There's the Plasma Bolt which is basically a ranged attack, Detention which creates a box around you or your enemy (you and your partner can walk through it but the enemies can't, they have to break it, and as you level, you can make the box stronger and/or bigger), then you have the Sledgehammer where it creates a GL symbol on the ground then a hammer comes out and smashes that mark, hurting and stunning everyone in the radius, my own personal favorite The Grinder, where you create two giant grinding gears and grind the hell out of your enemies, and finally the Protection Dome which is pretty self explanatory.

One of my personal favorite combo is having my friend as Flash get the enemies caught up in a Whirlwind while I bust out the Grinder. It can clear a room quick!

Fun game, and I'm glad my roommate is loving it too. Its kinda the only two-player game I own. But I'm kinda disappointed with unlockables. I really wish the game didnt come with that cheat code because now there's really nothing left to unlock but the characters themselves. And that wont take too long at all. Is whats on the list in the Stat screen really all there is to unlock, or do more become revealed as you go on?

I think thats it on the stats screen. I'm not sure cause we didn't know that you can unlock them right away with the shield-points until it came to the part where you get to choose teams.

I was dissapointed with this game, I beat in in about 8 hours. It was fun and all but it should have been longer and there should have been some freedom between missions.

Ron Perlman is a terrible voice for Batman.

I thought it was fun and worth buying. What difficulty did you play it on? Also I agree with Ron Perlman being a bad choice. I know they wanted to distance the game from the JLU cartoon series but they could've choosen better dialogue and voice for Batman.
