Hello everyone. My friend brought the Justice League Heroes game for PS2. Took us about two days to beat (7-8 hours of gameplay a day).
My Review:
The game is great and I specially liked using Green Lantern and Zatanna. The voice acting was all right (Batman sounded like a smartass Wolverine) other than that, it was fine. They didn't use any of the JLU voice actors. The story is like a big three-parter JLU Episode with major villains. Many unlockables like costumes and other characters.
There are also character specific situations which is cool. (i.e. Team must get through a big fan so Flash has to charge past it and turn off the console that runs it on the other side)
Only a few flaws in this one. When you're both playing Green Lanterns, its easy to confuse each other sometimes, so you and your friend may get a bit frustrated. When you're Batman or Zatanna, its hard to see them in the dark. A few phrases or two from the cinematics that seems out of character.
Overall, a great game to play even if you're not a hardcore JLA reader. In every boss fight and some level situations, my friend and I had to talk and make plans/strategies to get through which makes it fun and challenging, so its not just hack and slash. You can make the specifications of the heroes, (i.e. making this power more powerful, longer duration, etc. more ranks on this power, etc.) as they gain levels.
Buy or Rent? I say Buy. Even after beating the game, you can restart with your previously leveled characters on a different difficulty setting (which is what we're doing) so it makes up for good replay value.
(My next review will be Marvel Ultimate Alliance for PS2, I'll post it on the Marvel forums after beating it next week.)
(Please feel free to leave questions and comments! )
