Some Dark Vengeance

Anyone get it? At first it was Meh....But after a few listens it really kicks ass! Its much darker and moodier ( And definately deals out Some Dark Vengeance) I love "The Longest Day" and "Legacy". The Reincarnation of Benjamin Bregg is kinda weird, but very cool. Any other Maidne fans around here?

I kind of preferred Dance Of Death, but this was pretty good.

Favourite tracks would be Out Of The Shadows, Benjamin Breeg, The Pilgrim and These Colours Don't Run.

Hope they get played when I see them in December.

It doesn't have the hooks to immediately grab you like the last two did, but it certainly does grow on you with repeated listens.

I loved it.

Read my thoughts on it HERE. (http://www.rockislife.com/2006reviews/amatteroflifeanddeath.htm)

I thought it was a great album. I agree that it deserves multiple listens in order to obtain the true sound.

They go all around the audio carousel, going heavy, melodic, progressive, and it's all just good. The closeness of the members transcends into the sound of their music.

Anybody know what's on the bonus edition's DVD?

Mostly interviews, discussing the recording process of the album. Most of it is quite funny as the band members are always joking around. They discuss arguments they've had in the past, and how recording, everything about it, the process, the flow, and the lack of tension were much easier.

It also includes two music videos: The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg, and Different World.

Finally, it has photos from the studio, when they were recording.

What he said.

Side note: Maiden is playing the entire album on their new tour. They decided to focus on new stuff after playing older stuff last year on Ozzfest. The set list I read for Detroit a couple days ago was AMOLAD and four other songs: "Fear of the Dark,""Two Minutes to Midnight,""Iron Maiden," and "Hallowed be thy Name." A lot of fans are complaining about this, but I would love to have gone and seen that show.

I actually loved this album after getting it and the DVD version. It really reminds me of their Brave New World album a lot. The best songs I like is These Colors Don't Run & Benjimen Breeg.

"Genuflect" my ass. This is Maiden's third US tour in a row that isn't coming to Cleveland. I'm about ready to kick their asses for skipping us and yours for toturing me by posting stuff like that. :p

Just trying to give you a fix of live Maiden since you can't get it on your own.

Well, on their official message boards, fans are talking about them possibly doing a North American extension tour since the current one is apparently doing better than expected. If that is true (big "if"), I'm hoping they'll hit Cleveland.

Ahhh you know they'll skip you again. But it's nice to see you are still a hopeful human.

On November 9th a poster from Argentina claimed he had inside information that Maiden would announce new tour dates for North and South America and Europe, "in the next 10 days."

If he's lying there are about 100 fans who have sworn vengence on his ass. I guess I would be #101.
