help me identify this song? (clip included)

for some reason, this song just popped into my head the other night at work. its weird, because i didnt even know where to look to figure out where i had heard it, or what it was from. later that night, while i was on my way home, i was listening to a "best of" of Opie and Anthony and someone had used the song in a parody. i had never heard the bit before, so i know thats not where it came from. it also didnt tell me the name of the original...what it did do is provide me a way of extracting a clip to play for someone who can hopefully help me.

i linked to a clip of the intro, so please help me indentify this. i am guessing its a rap song.

also, if anyone knows of a tv show or movie that might have recently used the song, let me know, i would also like to figure how it got into my head in the first place. maybe a wrestler uses it as a theme song or something.

The song is "Simon Says" by rapper Pharoahe Monch. I can't remember the last time I heard it out of the context of hearing the album or seeing the video for the song, but I remember when it came out back in '99(I believe), they were using the song for a shoe commercial.

I do believe that he sampled some of the music from an old-school Godzilla movie, though.

thank you for taking the time to make that completely useless post. i was going to search the internet and get a third opinion, but you really cleared things up for me and saved me some trouble. i also never said that i liked the song, i merely had it stuck in my head and was trying to figure out what it was and why it was there. people like you make me thankful everyday for the indespensible tool that is the internet.

i appreciate the input, that was driving me nuts. i think i actually have that CD somewhere, but i was looking through my mp3's and cant find it...and yes, now that i know what it is, it is a very cool song. i guess i will have to hit up the ol' allofmp3 or iTunes.

just incase anyone cares, but mostly as closure on my part, i found where i heard the song recently. i was archiving my UFC pay-per-views and i came across the song on UFC 62. it was Renato Sobral's entrance music.
