If you are a Ted Kord fan, you need to buy Manhunter #27. Why? Because this is on the cover:

http://www.dccomics.com/media/covers/6651_400x600.jpg

I know it is probably not Ted Kord. Don't care. I don't care if it is an imposter or if it is just Marc Andreyko being mean and just messing with us. Don't care one bit.

If having Ted Kord on the cover can increase sales, then we might get some more Ted Kord luvin'. We might not get the blue guy back, but maybe an appearance in a JLA: Classified Arc or a year one mini or something.

But that will most likely only happen if Manhunter #27 sells well. So if you are a Ted Kord fan who doesn't normally read Manhunter, get that book! If you already read it...well, good for you, son!

That doesn't really look professionally inked or colored to me.

It looks like a cool 'con sketch and a hour of photoshop.

It is the cover for Manhunter #27 as it appears on the DC Comics site, done by Howard Chaykin. Obviously they are blocking out something in the background.

It can be found on these sites:

And confirmed by Marc Andreyko here:

Please, give me some credit. I am not a complete idiot.

I don't even buy Manhunter but, I saw this cover in the previews posted on Wizard and I was like....they better not be pulling this crap on me.

They're going to reveal that Manhunter cyber-did it with Blue Beetle, too.

I have a feeling The only reason Ted's on the cover is because his murder is going to be examined during the Wonder Woman trial.

It's nice to see him, but I'm just happy that BoP gave us a lovely Ted memorial scene. Thanks, Gail!

Nope. Over on his board on comicbloc.com, marc Andreyko said this is not a flashback.

Interesting since Meltzer's hinting that Booster Gold isn't dead either.

It would be funny if Didio was doing a very elaborate setup to build demand for a JLI revival.

where did he do that? I thought he was hinting that Booster Gold was dead.

Darn it...don't get my hopes up.

JLA #2. He mentions Ted among the fallen when he shows Booster's statue.

When asked if he meant to include Booster, he cryptically said, "No. I meant Ted."

But he was also talking about giving Booster Gold's suit to somebody else...implying he is dead.

Maybe Booster will stay dead but Blue Beetle is coming back.

I'd rather have them both come back honestly. I still don't know. A friend of mine has suggested that the character of Supernova could be either Booster Gold from a different time line or Ted Kord, though in the past couple of issues of 52 it has been implicated that it also could be Conner. A third theory on Supernova though is that, the character is the "other" Kryptonian mentioned in Busiek's Action Comics run..maybe? I don't know, they just better not be showing Ted Kord on the cover and then all of the sudden it's a flashback or something lame like that.

I want Booster Gold to be dead, actually. Why? Because if he isn't the one who died, then we risk losing either Renee Montoya, Black Adam, or the Question. And I would rather keep any of those three rather than Booster.

Other hints that there is going to be an Earth 2 opening up, and that 52 will deal with other universes. I am really hoping that one of those other universes will have a Jon Michael Carter and a Ted Kord.

BOOO, eh Black Adam...eh. He was cool in Infinite Crisis #6, "No more silly faces" *punches his fingers through Pyscho Pirates eye sockets, all the way out to the back of his head*. Beyond that the character is so so. Though I will agree Booster Gold without Blue Beetle to balance him is eh.

Keeping Black Adam is a good thing. Keeping The Question is not objectionable. Keeping Renee Montoya while offing Booster Gold is a capital offense. :p

You guys are omitting Steel.

Personally, I'd slaughter the rest in one panel if the alternative was losing Steel.

I really hated how they peed on Booster Gold's progress through the years and reverted him to more of a PR whore than he has ever been.

I just want Sue minus that stupid stupid stupid retro'ed rape and Ralph back together.

Max Lord shot Ted Kord in the head...I think after that all bets were off on what they'd do to the rest of the ole' school JLI. Booster Gold...yeah it's safe to say I hated how they killed him, they couldn't even let him die heroically, he had to say stupid one liners "I'm BACK BABY". Then BOOM. He's dead. Didio would have Waid kill Ice if he didn't already accidentally kill her (I say accidentally cause I have read somewhere that Waid regretted the decision) and Fire, well heck she's with Checkmate which is about as interesting to me as another season of 24...

It's true. There seems to be little sense of how he had progressed across time. Unless there's something yet to be revealed, it was poor writing (IMO).

I have a feeling that it is really Dylan, Manhunter's tech assistant, in Blue Beetle's costume.

As I said, I don't care who or what it is. If sales goes up on this issue, then me might see some more Ted Kord love.

But Booster Gold has already died. We knew one of them would die, but that doesn't mean they would stay dead.
