The ending of Mahoromatic.

Did anyone else think that the anime one sucked, an they shouldn't have changed it from the manga?

you know I never actually saw the last two episodes of season two, but i was super pissed about the ending to mahoromatic ending 8.

sure it was bittersweet but I dont like bittersweet I like plain sweet.

Well Gainax has been known to produce sucky endings at times Ala Evangelion, Still for Mahoromatic the anime I really have to agree on this one. Suguru dying and Mahoro coming out of nowhere just made no freaking sense, plus the fact that we never get to see how Suguru's friends all ended up like in the manga ruins most of the fun.

Did Suguru die in the anime. It was hinted slightly, but he was a bit too coherent and aware of the weirdness to sound delirious.

Last I remember, didn't he live in the manga? Mahoro was just reborn as a human I think.

He was on his last breath apparently, so yes it is hinted that he very well likely died after Mahoro appeared to him in the anime, and about the manga Suguru did live. He suceded his father for the role of commander in Vesper, and Mahoro is reborn a human, meeting with Suguru soon after.

The Mahoromatic anime ended production and before they knew how the manga ended. So they had to come up with their own ending.

This kind of thing happens A LOT in anime.
