We've heard talk about stardust, terrax, surfer, and firelord post-annihilation, but not Red Shift. He might be the odd man out after Annihilation. What did you think of him? He hadn't been around for very long and isn't well known (by fans or even in the universe), but I thought the sword swinging Herald looked pretty cool.

I think I know less about him than any other Herald. He seems cool though.

He was introduced back in 1996 or so, in the rather forgettable GALACTUS THE DEVOURER miniseries (which was meant to be the final storyarc of the SILVER SURFER series).
Not sure if there was much character development there, though; IIRC he just came across as "new herald who beats up Surfer and pals." And I thought he died there too...

wasnt re-shift trapped in a white/black hole in that mini ?
yeah i seem to recall them going to in about as much depth as they did with stardust's first apearance......
but i guess on the plus side if anyone wants to write something with them in theyre fresh clay to mold.....

Red who? :)
Yeah- I don't know. There really hasn't been much of anything at all about this guy, so it's kind of hard to get a read on him other than, as Sean put it, "new herald who beats up Surfer and his pals." That's really all he did in the Galactus: The Devourer mini, and then he got sucked into a black hole.
Considering how many heralds have been sucked into black holes, and their power levels, it's not all that surprising that he's back, frankly (wasn't Stardust sucked into one in Stormbreaker himself?), but Red Shift needs to be given a lot more character than he has been before I have any particular feeling for the character. At the moment, he seems to be just "there" in Annihilation as well- not really doing much except being another herald of Galactus. Hopefully he survives and someone can try to do something with him someday- though it doesn't look like he'll even get any development in the Heralds one-shots that are coming out.

Red Shift is just another lets make a new herald when we dont need one. I want him and Stardust to just go away.

I liked Red Shift...he was cool, but looked like a cosmic-Wolverine.
He's wasted now...I don't think they'll ever bring him back.

You know after reading about him in this event I kinda like the guy now. Before I thought he was a totaly useless character. I really hope him and Stardust do come back some time down the road. We already have seen Air Walker and Morg killed off, and Terrax doesn't look real good at all right, so I really hope there are at least a few of the Hearlds left besides the Surfer when this is all over.

Even though he is an effective "nobody" he should be technically a "somebody" since I don't think any roaming Ex-Herald of Galactus should be regarded as being "Red Who"? I guess it just kinda irks me that a Herald of Galactus could be a cosmic nobody.
That being said, I don't know anything about him at all other than what Annihilation told us and that he looks pretty sweet. I feel the warrior feel to him (so I guess in that regard Wolverine kinda makes sense), but I dunno. He just clicked with me. And now I want to seem him as being a badass comic character.

Think of it like being James Bond. Yeah, it's a big deal, but you don't see the world knocking down George Lazenby or Timothy Dalton's doors.

I didn't even know who he was. However, Giffen is really getting me to like a lot of characters that I had no interest in before.

I remember the minsereis he apeared in sucked bad but the only thing I liked about it was his intro.....I remember the part when he was dieing he said something about serving two masters.....Galactus being one of them.....I thought that could have been a cool story down the road but they never played on it....who knows....maybe the other master is Annihulus.

I had no problem with Red Shift, he had too short lived an appearance IMO. I'd like to see more of what he could have done.

Oh lord, now i've got a mental image of Red Shift in one of those horrible bondage outfits from Morrison's run, and making that horrible kissing/pouting face that all of Quietly's charactes seem to have
