Ok so in the latest Cable/Deadpool - he seems very commited to the anti-registration side. Going as far as to yell at the President in the Oval Office that the law was a big mistake and fight Deadpool over the issue.
Then in Civil War 4 he doesn't say much but walks out with Stature and Nighthawk.
What the heck is going on here? Has he quit?
I'm guess he's stepping out of Cap's group because he doesn't lilke the casualties but will continue to work Anti-reg on his own. But that seems like a very week move. Of course the other option is worse: he's a flip flopper.

I'd like to see him infiltrate the Pro- side and attempt to destroy them from within. It's reasonable to assume he'd think this to be a decent course of action seeing how Cap's way worked.

As far as I'm aware, what happened was this: Cable left Cap's Secret Avengers- he had believed they would lose before (the first C & D tie-in) but now he was certain of it. he went back for Deadpool, confronted the President. Now he is back in his own country, probably providing aid to Cap's side but no longer a Secret Avenger.

He was never technically a Secret Avenger, at least that's the impression I got from C&D. IIRC he told Cap that he would assist his group, but that he wasn't taking sides per se, and he certainly wasn't going to be a member. Cable works his own agenda these days, and presumably he left the group meeting there because he had other things to do. He's definitely not beholden to Cap.

That is exactly how Millar described it in an interview at Newsarama. He said Cable was on Cap's side, provided aid, assistance and at times would fight alongside him, but that he wouldn't be a member of his team per se as he was the ruler of a foreign nation. I'll try to find the exact quote...

Right. The battle in CW#4 takes place between panels in that latest C&D. Cable accompanied them on the mission, and when it all went wrong, he left to deal with things his own way, heading to the White House.

Well, it makes sense considering that the powers that be said Cable wouldn't exactly take a side.
