Question about Ares..

when his son is first kidnapped and taken by the japanese demons....the greek pantheon already know thor and the norse gods are dead....then it says ares and the greek gods fought for 5 years against the japanense dude...........its been 5 years since thor died? lol

am i missing something?

Yeah, Ares makes a point in saying that time doesn't quite flow the same way earlier in the story.
