Not because it's positive, but because it's very very thoughtful AND because it allows that some of the creative choices in issue one might have a bloom coming in future issues. :)

Great, great review. I wish all of them were this clever.

wow great article...
one thing though... In retrospect the handling or Rainmaker's lesbianism was heavy handed, salacious and sloppy... but on the other hand...
at the time it was a pretty ballsy move. Wildstorm wasn't DC or Marvel who could handle the blow of people dropping Alpha Flight or another book because they were offended by homosexuality... For Wildstorm at the time to take that risk was pretty brave and should be applauded.

Ireally think the biggest hurdle with older fans is they were very devided. Most only liked the book for one of the following.
Rainmaker was gay.
They thought they could prove Rainmaker wasn't actually gay, only experimental and since she passed out with Bobby once...could be argued she had been confused (I really hated these people, but I hate everyone that tells me a writer didn't mean what they say they meant for a character)
The rediculous amount of skin in the book.
It had weird teen sex every few issues.
Or it was 70% slapstick and never really went anywhere with the characters.
This is of course based around those that bought the book at one of my local shops and based on coments at local cons. So it might not be that accurate of a fan sample. Ultimately if you keep true to the characters and honor and respect the characters it should do well. But then you've always done that so it shouldn't be any different here.
BTW if anyone has had trouble getting issues I still have like 20 spare coppies of the regular cover.
