RULES for The HELLBOY FORUM HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST:

First of all, I just want to say it’s my first time organizing a contest so please feel free to let me know if something’s not working right.
The contest is not affiliated with Mike Mignola, Dark Horse, Comic Book Resources, Hellboy.com, or JNapper. It is intended to be a fun & spooky event for all CBR forum members.

1) Anyone who’s a registered Comic Book Resources Forums member can participate.

2) Only 1 entry per CBR Forum membership is permitted.

3) The HELLBOY FORUM HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST will have two winners:
First place and 2 Runner Ups.

4) Posting starts OCTOBER 16TH 2006.
Posting ends NOVEMBER 3RD 2006.

5) There are no actual prizes to be won (unless someone else would like to take care of that).
However, the winner will be remembered in history as having the greatest Halloween costume ever.
AND THAT’S SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF! :D

6) To participate, simply take a picture of yourself in your costume (Make sure they are good quality photographs so that we may see your costume clearly)

7) You may post a maximum of 3 pictures of your costume - Front, Profile & Back (optional).

8) Only 1 costume per participant.

Post your pictures in THIS thread.
I will open a second thread uniquely for voting.

9) The winners will be notified by email and CBR Private Message on NOVEMBER 7TH 2006.
The results will be posted the same day.

There is NO voting in this thread.
For voting & how voting works, please consult the HELLBOY FORUM HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST VOTING (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=148044) thread.

Nice costume! How did you do the hooves? Did you puff out the back calves to appear like an ankle joint?

Nope. That's a "true" digitigrade setup I've got going on there, rather and a faked leg. I'm on a four-inch platform, walking on my toes. The faun's ankle is my ankle, no padding needed :)

And yes, I'm nuts. But if anybody needs proof I can actually walk in that rig, I've got video ;)

I love it, Ose! I'm just recycling my old pirate costume from a few years back with new accessories. I was going to go as Ginny Weasley again, but they are predicting 75 degree weather on Halloween and that sweater and robe would kill me.

Okay, I went diggin’ through my closet to find a costume for this thread. I had this jacket I found at Goodwill that I’d sewed Sculpey skull buttons onto. And my favorite black and white cowboy boots. And a black wig, cowboy hat, striped bustier, some toy guns, and some snake vertebrae. So I hotglued some bones onto the pistols, slapped on some Kryolan and hopped in front of our rec-room greenscreen, and here you go…Voodoo Cowgirl. Or Undead Middle-Aged Bandita. Or Gunsmoke Alice Cooper. Or something.

Well, with my guitar there, it’s Zombie Country Singer. She stepped off the tour bus one moonlit night, right into the path of a Chevy Impala. Now she haunts the roadside, singin’ off key and gnawing on roadkill...

Okay, I dont know if you all will like this but hey, WTH? I spent weeks on this costume for my daughter cause she wanted to be Geisha just like Mulan, and I think you all might like to see it. I don't care if it qualifies for the contest or not.
Here she is, my little Japanese Geisha from Kyoto.

Very impressive Ose! Do you also dress up similarly at conventions? Some people REALLY get into their costumes, especially at SDCC.

I would if I were able to go to more conventions. I've only been to MCCC and C-ACE, and have never been in costume for them. Sammy was in tow to display behind my table last year at the fall MCCC (he's too cumbersome to change in and out of casually), and his head was slung over my shoulder as I was wandering around the year previous. The faun was barely started when I went to C-ACE back in June, otherwise I would have brought it along.

Now that I have the faun finished, it's going to be coming along with me to any conventions I go to. I would LOVE to get the SDCC sometime.

When you hear sweet syncopation
And the music softly moans
T'ain't no sin to take off your skin
And dance around in your bones

When it gets too hot for comfort
And you can't get an ice cream cone
T'ain't no sin to take off your skin
And dance around in your bones

Just like those bamboo babies
Down in the South Sea tropic zone
T'ain't no sin to take off your skin
And dance around in your bones

My friend said I look like 'Catholic Tom Selleck with jaundice', which I also like. Diddly-ike.

Ladies and gents...damn fine job with your costumes....I spent Halloween chasing my four-year old Flash around the neighborhood as he invited himself into everyone's house and proceeded to say such grand things as " Dimme all da tandy in your hand " and " I don't like that" and " I am dressed as da Flash and its HAWWOWEEN !!!" Tough call for a winner, everyone...kinda like Rick's Nacho Libre, But 6are54 and Sparky are right there too...and yep, the Simpson's neighbor is indeed some scary stuff, hi-diddley-doo,neighbor !
