Ever get the feeling why there's an abundance of either common nouns or historical titles for the names of anime/manga characters? Is it for significance on the characters part or did they add that for comedic reasons or they were brain-stumped? What are some off the oddest names for anime/manga characters have you heard off?

A lot of Asian languages come across really odd and clunky when translated literally into English; good translators know how to find the right fit of words that covey the original intent, not necessarily the exact word for word translation. When RUMBLE IN THE BRONX opened in the U.S., everybody laughed at an American gangster being named White Tiger, but if he had been called Tiger White nobody would have blinked.
