Hello anyone recomend city of crime in Detective Comics? I read the first two issues and so far I think its ok. Is it worth searching for the remainder?

I thought it was okay. It started off strong but got drawn-out near the end. The ending left a lot of unanswered questions.

If you want to see a Batman story that is dark for dark's sake. That wallows in the horror, misery and pain that is Batman's world then read on.

Agree with you there. Long in the mouth and loose ends. Better than some of the other Batman stories lately.

I'd recommend Broken City over that though.

I read the first issue. Found it boring and didn't bother reading the rest. It just went straight into my box. Many people here who have read it said that the essential story could have been covered in 5 issues.

I believe there's a trade out on it now, so you might want to get that as opposed to hunting down the rest of the issues.

The first half was really, really good. The prequel 8-pager in Detective Comics #800 is probably my favourite Batman story. Second half turned into crap though. I was looking forward to a good, noirish story like Broken City but got a pretty bad superhero one instead.

I agree with what everyone has said. Started off decent then went down hill to the point that I ended up hateing it. I wish I could have gotten my $36 back.

So thumbs down.
