I grabbed the pic from the covers thread in the MU forum. I'd never paid much attention to it til now, but how is Mags stopping Scott's optic blast? Or am I just not understanding what's going on?

I believe he's using the magnetic shield bubble he uses so often.

Also, FYI, there's a questions thread stuck towards the top of the X-Board.

I love Jean on that cover.

And yeah, for future reference use the Questions thread. :)

So...how can Bobby see anything if he's got snow covering his eyes?

Oh wait, I forgot. His power comes with the ability to see through snow.

Now I recall.

Never mind.

Meanwhile, you can tell the X-Men are still amatuers because Angel is attacking Mags with what looks like a metal pole, and Beast is swinging from what looks like a metal trapeze. Well, I guess they had to learn the hard way....

Peace,
Syzygy

Lol that's probably why he missed by a foot or two!

He's able to see because his eyes turn into snow, too, while maintaing their functionality, albeit with a blur.

I love how Angel has a freakin' bazooka. Cuz, you know, you never see Warren without a bazooka, right? :D

Good guess...but incorrect, I think.

If I remember correctly, Iceman never learned to turn to water (or snow, or ice) until being possessed by Emma Frost.

So if I'm correct, he's simply covering himself with snow.

You realize I was just kidding about the "how does he see" stuff, right? I mean, this was the sixties!

Peace,

The boys attack Magneto.

And Jean....well....she strikes a pose.

What? Distraction is a viable battle strategy!

Why the hell is Angel using a METAL rod? :p

Although it sounds like something Dazzler would say, Jean's first ever words in this issue were "Whoever designed this uniform could give Christian Dior a run for his money." Thereby dating herself to the Pillbox-hat era of high fashion, but hey..

Well of course you were joking. So was I.:D

More importantly, what kind of flying pose is that? And what's Beast swinging from?

Bobby CAN'T see, that's why he's missing Magneto with his... snowballs.

The plumbing? Or are outside for this attack? Can't really tell!

Back then his magnetic powers seemed to be able to do anything.

Angel: "If I can poke this giant metal straw through the top of his bubble, I can suck all the air out and asphyxiate him. Warren, you clever bastard."

Beast: "Crap, I'm being carried off by a helicopter!"

Jean: "I keep losing my footing on this weird purple rug!"

Cyclops: "Good lord, he's blocking my blasts! My blasts must be made of metal! Somebody take a note!"

Caption: Editor's Note: Cyclops is actually shooting Mercury of the Metal Men out of his eyes. Shhh...don't tell the Distinguished Competition -- Sneaky Stan

Iceman: "My boomerang snowballs will clobber hm from behind!"

Magneto: "What the--?! Wha--? Who the hell ARE you people?!"

Marvel Girl is throwing a telekinetic force bolt. This cover has worn off Marvel Girl's telekinetic effect.

I know I find it to be a riot.

I think I've figured it out. This whole thing is a Danger Room scenario! That explains the metal stuff with Angel and Beast. It also might explain why it looks like they're indoors. I can't figure out why the Danger Room has purple carpet or how a robot can generate an electromagnetic field, but I'll leave that for someone else.

You'd think so... except he turned himself see-through in an early issue of (Uncanny) X-Men. So either he knew how to go completely ice already and forgot, or... crap, does Bobby has invisible internal organs? I smell secondary mutation!

That's the "Yikes! I'm being thrown backwards. I guess attacking a guy that controls metal witha big metal object was probably a bad idea" flying pose.

Just check the motion lines.

i think bobby is responsible for the x-menīs feud with magneto. if you look closely, magneto seems to have snow on the back of his cape.
so the master of magnetism decided to teach the brats a well deserved lesson.
blame bobby!

Those lines are so vague. They could be for either direction.
