As the title says, this is speculation. Suckily, all of this comes from non-story sources. But piecing together some marketing statements, it seems pretty ovious.

"Week 35...the reveal of Supernova will deepen his mysteries even further."
http://www.newsarama.com/dcnew/Jan07/solicitations.html
So a January 52 will have Supernova reveal himself.

"Determined to rebuild the Justice Society, founding members Green Lantern, Flash and Wildcat initiate an unprecedented recruitment program, tracking the bloodlines of heroes across the world and bringing in the new Starman, Damage, Liberty Belle and more!...JSA #1 comes out December 6th."
http://www.newsarama.com/dcnew/JSA/01/JSA01_pre.html

"Q: In which issue will you reveal Supernova's identity?!

SW: Issue #1. But I’m not saying issue #1 of what."

In december we'll find out that Supernova is the new Starman, who looks like the Kingdom Come Starman (but who isn't.)

So now the question becomes: who is this new Starman?

I've had this thought too. DC will reveal Supernova to be the new Starman, but it won't actually reveal to us who the new Starman is. It's like how every time Batman is unmasked in a story, he's always wearing a second mask underneath it.

It's Iron Man. It turns out that he got stuck in the DCU in the aftermath of JLA/Avengers, and the one in the MU is...Xorn, or something.

Wasn't it pretty much the destiny of Starboy to be the next starman as stated so clearly in the last starman series ? Also , he used to have similiar powers to superboy though temporary when he was younger.

I can see it being the Thom Kallor Starboy from the Legion. Not the current Legion but the one before the Waidboot. Jack Knight met that Starboy not only in the future but also in the present time in his series. Maybe Thom got stuck here during the Crisis event and took up the Supernova name to keep a low profile. Plus didn't one of the Justice Society blurbs or articles talk about a mystery in the far future being solved? I would sy the disaperence of Starboy from his own time would fit that pretty nicely.

Read in another forum about Supernova possibly being Lightray. That in Mr. Miracle's miniseries, it states that Dark Side finally destroyed the Fourth World, and that the new gods are hiding on Earth.

Hopefully, maybe, we'll find out that he's Lightray in Mister Miracle #1! :) And if that isn't wishful thinking, I can't wait to see Ambush Bug in this year's Christmas Special!

Yea but they were that group of homeless people and I believe Lightray was there...I could be wrong though.

Yes, but if you accept the events in MM as having occured then Lightray is presently trapped as a cripple. Besides when did Lightray have teleportation and heightened sensory powers that Supernova has.

Considering that Earth-2 might have been revived during IC, could Starman/Supernova be a native of that Earth?

I think it is inspired guesswork that Supernova should be the "new" Starman! It seems so right.

I was under the impression from some stuff I read somewhere (probably Wizard) that the "new" Starman in JSA would remain a mystery for a while.

So the point I'm trying to make is : even if they reveal Supernova to be Starman, that'll be as far as it goes for a while.
