I have them both in my case next to my computer...it is the same figure, same head sculpt, same material coat.only difference is the packaging.japanese head/Hellboy has Samaritan in holster.von Klempt has Samaritan on the packaging along with a Walkie-talkie.Other than that,it's the same Hellboy figure.I hoped that helped!

I thought the chest-joint was better in the SDCC figure, and the paint was a brighter color red. The tail joint in my SDCC figure is also better--it isn't frozen like my other figure's tail joint is.

I like the SDCC figure better.

According to the folks at Mezco, there was supposed to be a different head sculpt on the Japanese Heads SDCC exclusive HB, however, there wasn't time to have that head in production for the figures sold at the convention. The rocketpack HB in Hellboy Series 2 however does appear to have a slightly new head sculpt. The biggest difference between the S1 and S2 HB heads appears to be a thinner nose on the S2. That's just my perception though and I'm sure others can find examples of more overt differences.

It could be your's was painted just after/before they added more paint to the machine. Just a natural factory process variation.
