Reading Mystery in Space made me recollect this mini from late 90s I think. Whatever happend to the main character who was a sheriff guy in it?

I only have very vague memories of that series... Wasn't there an in-joke with a skeleton dressed either like Adam Warlock or Mar-Vell lying around somewhere?

Chief Max tricked the Justice League into helping him kill Thanos (or whatever they were calling him in that series). They were understandably pissed, and warned Max that he wasn't to call on them again. Max returned to Hardcore Station, worrying about Thanos' final words. Something to the effect of, now that he's been killed, he can come back even deadlier than before.

The fight between the justice league & synnar was pretty hardcore. Only good thing to come out from that mini.

I don't remember the bulldog from the mini, though I didn't read every issue. I assumed he a Captain Comet character from back in the 50s.

The cycloptic ninja chick was there, though.
