When/How did he become Venom?

He should? One man's trash is another one's treasure, I suppose. Well, I guess calling it trash is a bit too harsh. It's not as bad as some other Spidey stuff.

So how strong is the new Venom? The symbiote amplified Brock's strength to be greater than Spidey's. So, is the Gargan-Venom even stronger since Gargan has super-human strength already? Am I correct in thinking that he has super-human strength without the symbiote?

You are correct. I'd assume either that the suit didn't up his strength level much, if at all, due to his regular strength or that he is indeed stronger than Brock was.

I think I once saw a pic of Gargan-Venom creating a scorpion tail with his Symbiote, which really works for me..

There's no reason why Mac can't continue using part of the Scorpion look as Venom...

...Seeing as how scorpions have venom too. :evilsmile

I think that was in the ongoing "Beyond" miniseries. Pretty cool stuff. He should call himself Scorpio-Venom or something.

I hope Gargan doesn´t keep the symbiote for long. The only person I could imagine as Venom is Eddie Brock.

Look no further than Beyond! besides being a great old school mini, Venom is getting used a lot. He still maintains his scorpian tail, it just looks damn cool imo. My only quam is his face looks like an Orca whale now.

My only quam is his face looks like an Orca whale now.

I just had a vision of that kid from Free Willy standing on that rock with his arm in the air, yelling "Go Venom!!" as Venom leaps over his head.
