Wouldn't this be better suited for the Questions thread?

Isn't practically everybody too young for him? Maybe he should date Selene or a vampire or something...

It's Japan. If anime has taught me anything it's that the legal age of consent over there is somewhere between 5 and 8 years old.

I don't think he has dated any teenage girls. But the guy shouldn't date anyone. If a writer feels he needs to fate someone, I don't see a problem with it being a mature teenager.

Isnt EVERYONE a litlle young for Wolverine? He's pretty much stuck in his 30's physically so, Its not that bad. Mariko wasnt too young, she was probably in her 20s.

IIRC, her age was hinted only once. It was in X-Factor #63 or #64. I believe that was the first time Mariko and Jean met. Jean though to herself something that gave us an idea of how old Mariko is. It wasnt teens. It was early 30s, late 40s.

Yes. Portacio also drew her older, with wrinkles on her eyes.

Yes. Portacio also drew her older, with wrinkles on her eyes.Given all the problems and hardships that her father Shingen left her with and the amount of stress as a result, I think Portacio's depiction of Mariko as looking much older was very realistic and sensible. Not to mention thought-provoking. ;) :)

It would have been more realistic if other artists followed the same pattern.

It would have been more realistic if other artists followed the same pattern. That's true. It would have also been better if their editor at the time paid more attention so he could have told the artists what Mariko looks like.
