I haven't heard anything about the going ons there in about a month. Is this some kind of news cover up by the liberal media? Are things really going that smooth over there where nothing is making the news? If anyone has heard any updates please post here. Just think it is bizarre how that area has completely fallen off the news radar.

Why isn't Woodward's book in the media?
Foley.
Why isn't Foley in the media?
North Korea.
Basically, there's too much news and too little attention/time.

Or because things are relatively quiet there now, enough that the Israelis are focusing on the Palestinians again.
Seriously, this was in the news today. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061011/ts_nm/mideast_lebanon_hamas_dc_3
Sorry if it doesn't fit your need for voyeuristic bloodletting.

Have you tried looking at media sources beyond the ones you regularly use? There's plenty of stuff (as pointed out) going on that is being reported.

Yeah that damn liberal media is covering up the Lebanese civilian deaths from left-over Israeli cluster-bombs.
The swine!
Seriously, go here: http://www.news.google.com and type in "Lebanon".

I thought the term "liberal media" had gone from lunatic fringe buzzterm to overworked mainstream meme and at this point had sailed past irrelevance into ironic sarcasm. Are there people who are still using it seriously?

I suggest you try www.jpost.com and www.dailystar.com.lb
One's based in Jerusalem, and the other in Beirut, so between they should have plenty of Israeli and Lebanese news.

There is a missing white woman in peril up in Vermont or somewhere like that.
A former missing white woman in peril, the Runaway Bride, is suing her ex.
And the journalists are probably too busy trying to find the next missing white woman in peril, celebrity scandal, or similar to find news that is globally important.

There have been stories; but this administration has never been that interested in the inner-workings of Israeli issues, and then there's the Foley sex-scandal, the fact that the war in Iraq is going so bad, that Dubya's actually talking about changing his tactics, and the detonation(s) of nukes in North Korea on the eve of the mid-term elections!
