First, is this a joke?
Second, I'm nearly certain that Satan's Sodomy Baby and its supposed ban is a joke created by Powell (and to be honest, if your post is real, Powell's humor is just not going to be up your alley). Anyway, does it say anywhere that it is anal rape and not consensual sodomy?
Third, I'm really, really glad that there are comics written for adults out there. The idea of needing everything to be censored and sanitized because there happen to be children on this planet makes me ill. If you don't like it, that's fine. There are plenty of other comics out there to choose from.
Fourth, if you let your two year old choose his/her own comics from the shelf without looking them over first, then you are a bad parent.

sorry about my grammer and spelling ,i tend to forgot this is grammer conscience society:confused: and the grammer police patroled these boards!
like i said in my post i was not familiar with these books till my friends recommended them to me, i also wasn't aware it was a joke! if it is then i'm not taking part in it.i was just surprised that these type of issues are happening in comics and are becoming the norm.i'm more used to peter parker crushing on mary jane than a lesbian batgirl:confused:
as to what my children read i my business ,as a parent i involve myself in every possible way.

The grammar is only a big deal insofar as your willingness to communicate with others effectively and clearly. If you don't care, that's fine, but you might find people a bit less receptive.
As for your concerns, there are definitely a lot of great comics out there for children. Aside from the standard Archie digests, Richie Rich, etc, there's the fairly new Lions, Tigers and Bears and Grimoles titles created by Mike Bullock and his collaborators through Image comics (it is Image, right guys?), as well as the Johnny DC and Marvel Adventure titles that will feature nothing even resembling extreme violence, or sexual activity. Owly is supposed to be another good one.

So one person wanting to get busy with another specific person is more appropriate than one person having a set of personal preferences for relationships?
I know, it's hard to make bigotry and logic mix.

There wasn't an on-panel depiction of anal rape.
Powell just thinks the phrase "Satan's Sodomy Baby" is funny.
The target audience for the Goon is folks with a deeply f-ed up sense of humor. It's probably not going to appeal to most people. If you don't like it, fergodssakes, don't buy it.
I love the Goon, but I'm not completely right in the head. Hence, I'm the audience the book is trying to reach.

If you want to be understood, be understandable.
If you don't care enough about your opinion to communicate it clearly, why should I?
like i said in my post i was not familiar with these books till my friends recommended them to me, i also wasn't aware it was a joke! if it is then i'm not taking part in it.
Fair enough. There are plenty of comic which don't feature sodomy. Read them.

There's a thing called reality. All sorts of stuff happens in it. Some of it's all-ages friendly and agrees with your viewpoints. Some of it doesn't.
Art reflects reality.
Deal with it.
as to what my children read i my business ,as a parent i involve myself in every possible way.
Then I salute you for that.

Lay off the guy about his grammar. He's not using that obnoxious internet language (gr8, kewl, pwned etc....) and his post was perfectly easy to understand.
However....

I couldn't agree more with that post

I'm not sure how anyone can be truely offended by a book such as The Goon as it clearly played for kicks and features some of the best art work in comics (personally speaking), but maybe thats just a matter of personal taste. Perhaps you should research the kind of comics you are interested in reading so you can avoid such mishaps in future? Hmm?

I used to teach English, and in that capacity, was paid to read semiliterate screeds from people who didn't understand capitalization, sentence structure and paragraphs.
I fail to see why I should endure it for free.

See... you shouldn't be reading The Goon in the first place. Go buy a newspaper, the comics in there should be at your level. Nice and short, no long sentences.
No anal rape.

You lie! I mean, there are a few - mostly old issues of Power Pack - but sodomy is very in this year. It's the new Wolverine.

Given the fake banning, this could very well be a joke. Either way, THE GOON is awesome. Not liking THE GOON is unawesome.

I agree with both of those statements, but Moe's posts were completely understandable from beginning to end. If you're having trouble with any of it let me know and I'll be happy to translate.
