View Full Version : Avatar Contest for the week of Oct. 11, 2006

Theme this week: Two Fisted, Death Dealing Vigilantes.
And I'm too lazy to copy and paste that other crap in.
Michael P
10-11-2006, 01:11 PM
I'm not! :)
The person who wins the last contest picks a theme, the posters all make an avatar according to what fits the theme. Come Tuesday of the next week, we vote on whose is the “best”. The only prize is that the winner gets to pick the next contest.
Please don’t suggest avatars! People like thinking stuff up themselves and it’s frowned upon. If you think of a neat Avatar idea, why not take it yourself?

The Saint of Killers.

"In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team."

Not exactly death-dealing, but they taught me at a young age that the forces of douchebaggery can be defeated if you:
- Have clever disguises
- Have enough automatic weapons that don't actually kill anyone
- Can build any kind of apparatus if you have enough junk laying around

I'm going to go with the Internet Tough Guy. While he may not actually be two-fisted or death-dealing, he likes to think of himself as such--and he'll, like, totally rip your arms off and beat you with them if you think he won't!

He tried to kill Luthor. He was going to, but had no idea Luthor was uber at the time.
I think his intent speaks for itself. :)
But I can change it if you don't think it fits. It's no big deal. :)

But did The Spirit ever kill anybody?
Michael P
10-11-2006, 07:11 PM
Hey kids! Obscurity!
This here is Crimson Phantom Vengeance, a contestant from Todd Nauck's Wildguard: Casting Call. He had a whole Dark Avenger of the Night thing going on, but was just trying to hard. He did eventually get to lead a team of mind-controlled rejects against the twenty semifinalists, though, so that ain't too shabby.

Dunno. I just figured he was close enough. (Almost said "in the spirit of the theme if not the letter..." but stopped myself! And then added this note telling you about it anyway!)
Weird, I miss my Link avatar now, and I didn't even use it for very long.

Actually, the death dealing thing is pretty important. Otherwise, hell, you could use Link, given that he had no official Hyrulean authority to go after Gannon.
Actually, you could use Link anyways. He killed stuff.

That too, certainly. Mostly, even. He just also acknowledged it was a way to work in the Spirit of Vengeance angle at the same time.
