Gang - does anyone know of a resource that provides newstand sales figures for Archie comics, including current sales?
I apologize if this is not the most appropriate forum for this thread. However, I thought if anyone might be able to answer my question (or actually be interested in Archie comics), that person would be one of the Classic Comics Thread posters.
Thanks!

I don't know of any place that will give you actual newstand sales, but the Statement of Ownership boxes published each year in the actual comics do report how many copies they print per issue on average.
ARCHIE & FRIENDS #98 (April 2006) lists the circulation of that comic as being around 14,000 copies per issue.

As far as I figure out, Archie was the #1 publisher in the newsstand & Wal-Mart markets!

...is only selling 14k per issue, they would have pulled the plug. You might not be looking at the right line.
The digests have to be moving more than 14k, or wal-mart would have dropped them years ago.
These #s were asked about a couple years ago. Let me see if I saved the info.

Dunno what Wal-Mart's cut-off point is, but Gardner Dozois has repeatedly made the point about Azimov's SF magazine, that the digest format is very very cheap to produce - the circulation of that magazine is miniscule, and it's still allegedly profitable.

I may be totally misremembering this, but wasn't there a discussion here a few years ago about the current press run of Superman, and it was something like 20,000 copies?
Or was it 200,000?
