I was bored, so I started thinking about which comics I buy, which comics I stopped buying, and which comics I will buy.

At the start of the year, this was my unofficial pull list:
Singles-
Amazing Spider-Man
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Astonishing X-Men
X-Factor
Exiles
Young Avengers
Runaways
Thunderbolts
She-Hulk
Marvel Team-Up
All-Star Superman
Legion of Superherooes
Teen Titans
Invincible
Fallen Angel
Rurouni Kenshin
Trades-
Birds of Prey
Outsiders
Y: The Last Man
JSA

Over the course of the year, Kenshin, Young Avengers, and Marvel Team-Up all ended, so I'm obviously not buying them anymore. I add The Thing, which was cancelled, and Uncanny X-Men and X-Men, which weren't. I switched Birds of Prey from trade to singles with One Year Later, although I still have a couple of trades to go until I catch up. I started buying Fables and Seven Soldiers in trade. I dropped Outsiders after the third trade.

I also followed the following miniseries over the course of the year:
X-Men Fairy Tales
Marvel Haunt of Horror: Edgar Allen Poe
Spike vs. Dracula
Beyond!
Agents of Atlas
Young Avengers/Runaways
CSI: Dying In The Gutters

None of those will continue into the new year.

In December, I'll be dropping Thunderbolts and Exiles with the last issue of their current creative teams. I'll also pick up at least one issue of the Wonder Man miniseries.

So, in January 2007, my pull list will look like this:
Singles-
Amazing Spider-Man
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Astonishing X-Men (continue at least through Whedon's run)
X-Factor
Uncanny X-Men
X-Men
Runaways
She-Hulk
All-Star Superman
Birds of Prey
Supergirl and the Legion of Superheroes
Invincible
Fallen Angel
Trades-
Birds of Prey (at least one more to catch up)
JSA (finish out the volume with the Levitz arc)
Y:The Last Man (will likely finish in '07)
Fables
Seven Soldiers (I pray to God the final trade ships in '07)

As the year goes on, I'll be picking up Marvel's Loners series when it starts, and giving the first trade of the new Atom series a try.

So, looking at things, there's been a small drop-off in my monthly purchases, while my trade buying has remained stable in terms of dollars, while changed slightly by content.

What's yours look like?

My specific pull list is down to ALL STAR SUPERMAN, THE COMICS JOURNAL, ACTION PHILOSOPHERS, OPTIC NERVE, and LOCAL (and the nice thing is, none of that is quite "monthly"). I've pretty much switched to trades, and I'm buying them less frequently now that I don't have as much time to read them. I'll start catching up come May or June.

Same with me.

I buy trades maybe every three to four months.

Same with me.

I buy trades maybe every three to four months.

I used to buy a little here and there, and do big splurges at MoCCA and SPX. Now, I'm just going to splurge every time, and limit those splurges to four or five times a year.

Once Y finishes, I'll pick up She-Hulk again. I stopped after trade #3 for no particular reason. I'll also pick up All-Star Superman. I read the first couple issues, but figured I'd wait for trade. Fables is still on my list until it finishes.

I stopped following DC for a long ass time though. Like 4-5 years ago, I was buying 8 titles in single issue form. Now...zip.

My pull list is pretty small right now:
Ex Machina
All-Star Superman
Squadron Supreme
Ultimate Fantastic Four
Astonishing X-Men
New Avengers (on & off, depends on the creative team)
All-Star Batman & Robin (a guilty pleasure)
Justice League (the Meltzer re-launch)

Trades only:
Y: The Last Man
Ultimates
The Walking Dead

I don't really have a pull list. Alex tends to guess right, though.

I've always thought that the term 'pull list' sounds a little dirty.

My pull list:
All-Star Superman (bi-monthly)
Castle Waiting (bi-monthly or so)
Conan
Hero Squared
Jonah Hex
Mouse Guard (mini)
Planetary (only published under a blue moon)
Secret Six (mini)

I can't believe there are only three monthlies on the list, two of which will probably be dropped soon. It's almost depressing.

I started picking up Bone collections last week. Good stuff. I'm going for #2 next week.

At the start of the year my list was like this:

Infinite Crisis
Legion of Super-Heroes

But now it's this:

Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes
Justice League of America
52
The All-New Atom

In between I've toyed with collecting these other titles, but stopped for financial reasons (unrelated to the quality of the book; if money was no object I'd still be getting all of 'em):

Wonder Woman
Blue Beetle
Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters

And later this year I believe I'll be auditioning:

The Spirit
Justice Society of America

It's going to make things a lot easier on me when 52 ends.

I'm usually a wait for the trade guy. Well, to be accurate, once a month I run up to Comix Experience and splurge like a bastard.

But there's some books I can't wait for because they're so zeitgeisty, and they're almost always by Ellis or Morrison (now that Moore's out of the game):

Planetary
Fell
Desolation Jones
Seven Soldiers
ASS
52

Nextwave I can wait. Ditto Thunderbolts. They usually read better in trade anyway. Who'd buy and eat a single skittle?

I'll have to check my spreadsheet at home to see what series I've cycled through during 2006, but my current pull list contains:

Monthly
Ex Machina
Jonah Hex
She-Hulk
Superman
Uncle Sam & the Freedom Fighters
X-Factor

Bi-monthly
All-Star Superman
Gargoyles

Once In a Blue Moon
Akiko
Astro City
Hellboy
Planetary
Supernatural Law

The only tpb series on my pull list is Fables; but I buy a fair number of other trades (like Usagi tpbs and Showcase volumes) online.

In trades I am picking up:
Powers
Fables
Y The Last Man
100 Bullets

There's also something else I am forgetting.
