View Full Version : Where's the fill in between IC/52 and 52/OYL?

Where will we get to see the events that occurred between the end of IC and the beginning of 52? For instance, at the end of IC #7 Bruce is on the boat leaving. But then in a OYL Batman story it said that there was one month in which Bruce trained Harvey to guard Gotham. Where/when will that be told, and when will we see Gotham reacting to Batman's disappearance?

Also, where will the events between the end of 52 and OYL take place? At the end of 52? The start of OYL suggested that stuff had happened then that we haven't seen yet. Like Robin has a new outfit for instance.

What is happening to the present time Starfire, Animal Man, Steel, etc? If they are still alive in the present, are they now taking a year off?

An entire issue of 52 will deal with that boat trip in the very near future.

But if 52 is in real time, then it will be happening X number of weeks after the end of IC. What happened right at the end of IC between issue #7 and whatever is going to happen in this upcoming issue of 52?

Which is why God invented expository dialogue

Not necessarily. With the exception of 52, 12 months' comics don't take up 12 months of time in the DCU.

what the hell? do you have any idea what 52 is? 52 week 1 was right after IC. we are now into week 23..23 weeks after IC.

So then if we are in week 23 and we haven't seen Batman yet, then when do we see what happened between the end of IC and now? That's what I'm asking. What's so hard to understand?

Comics can and should only cover so much. We don't need to see Bruce Wayne using the toilet, for example. Stories can focus on the interesting and exciting parts and skim over the less interesting parts, or else become unreasonably long and dull.

The whole point of 52 is that there was an interesting year in the DCU when Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman were inactive. The whole point of OYL is to skip over that year so that hardcore fans of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman don't quit buying DC comics during that year. The best that you (and other obsessive completists) can hope for is that there may be some appearances in 52 and there may be some flashback scenes in their regular monthly titles.

You don't. Get over it.

Bruce is catching up on alot of sleep. Dick is sunbathing. And Tim is peeling potatoes. Are you happy now?

Did any of you even read what I wrote or do you just enjoy being jerks? I'm not asking to see Batman in the bathroom, I'm wondering about things like how he can be on a boat in IC #7 and in Gotham at the same time for a month training Harvery. Things like that are glaring contradictions that don't make sense. If you don't know then don't respond.

Are you reading what we wrote? You just accept it and move on. You'll enjoy more if you employ that philosophy more often.

Where did I miss you people recieving the right to barge in to someone's thread and insult them for wanting a legitamite question answered? If you don't agree with the question, do us all a favor and keep it to yourself. This is just plain rude. There's nothing unreasonable or inappropriate about the questions Choppa is asking.
