Well said, MacQ! As a father of two small boys, it gladdens my heart to hear someone so loudly echoing my sentiments. Now if only I can find a way to get my parents and grandparents to read this...

Print it out and hand it to them.

Good idea if they weren't hundreds of miles away...

I've e-mailed them both the link, but I'm betting it'll get deleted a sentence in. They're not the most open-minded people on the planet, which is why there's so much distance between us.

My dad didn't have me celebrate it either. He thought it was devil worship. So I never really got into it later on.

Now I think its a silly event. I don't get it, its just a bunch of sillyness.

Don't let your kids end up like me.

Me too, except the reason was that we lived out in the country and Mom thought it would be weird to drive the kids into town to get candy from people we didn't even know. I agree with her. We did it once, and it was weird.

Now, I just don't get it. I lived in town for a year and giving out the candy was fun, but I haven't had trick-or-treaters since I moved back to the un-sidewalked land eight years ago. I do get candy every year, though. Just in case.

Silliness is especially good for you! Get out there and commit some random acts of silliness.

Good work, Mac. Worthy of any good newspaper's editorial page.

Another reason to go out for Halloween. If you come to my house, you get comic books.

Nice write up MacQ.

Now that I'm older, I actually enjoy halloween more, because I've realized that the halloween crap is the only thing keeping the stores from putting up the christmas crap.

Even though I don't really trick or treat anymore, I've always loved Halloween. It's just the way the the whole time feels, I guess.

13 and younger only pal! After that you get a job and buy your own damn candy and comics.
