Like $150 if i really had to. I would read like half of them so it wouldnt be worth it to me. Your not think about bidding on that are you.

Thinking about it. It would cost way more to buy them individually. Lots of key issues in that run.

Thats a tuff one only a few books in there that are worth any real money and I can see it going wellover a thousand dollars.

Personally? I'd pay about $250 for it. If I was interested. I generally don't like to pay more than $1 per issue in lots like that.

I am leaning towards not bidding. But last week a lot that had only #250-441 went for over a grand.

To be honest, anything Spidey right now is going for a higher price because of movie expectations (especially this lot which features a lot of key Venom books). In a year from now, you could probably get this very same lot for a much cheaper price.

I don't know... when Batman came out in 1989 every Joker appearance went through the roof and while they did eventually settle, they were all above what they went for before the movie and still remain higher than the rest of the books around it.

Tough call!

If you have the disposable income... why not! It's a great way to get a crap load of books all at once and keep you reading for AGES!

Well, if I were seriously interested in obtaining all those issues (over 400 comics as it stands at the moment), which I'm not because I already have too many of them in my collection. I guess I'd be prepared to pay $500 for 'em. That way it'd work out at just over $1 per comic.

Of course, the bidding had already reached $700+ by the time I saw this listing, so I guess I would be out of luck. But if you’re prepared to pay more, you have the cash to spare and you're going to get a lot of enjoyment out of these comics, why not? Go for it!

Personally, I'm always on the look out for a 'job lot' auction like this for the entire Spider-Man Clone Saga run, which is over 150 comics in total. I have purposely keep away from buying any of the issues featured in the Clone Saga precisely because I'm on the look out for whole thing as one lot on eBay.

The Confessor had a good point. I hadn't really thought about it like that. If I had the disposable income and didn't already have a lot of those books I would do it. To drop 700 or more in a day on comics just seems awful though. That is prob what I spend a year on back issues and comics. Probably a little more but you see my point.

What I want to know is how someone could part with what looks like their entire collection of comics in a single moment.

If a person wants to buy the comic books for the sheer pleasure of reading them, then price should not even be a question. This is as long as the person can afford it.

Obviously if a person has a steady job, the $ 900 layed out for this collection should not be any problem.

I recently started reading comic books again this past June. And that is after a 15 year hiatus. I tend to enjoy it a little bit more now than before. I would do a little research on what I want to read on the modern comic book runs and find 'em and pay for them.

I've probably shelled out about $ 3,000 so far and have actually enjoyed reading the runs. In particular, Greg Rucka's run at Detective Comics, Gabrych's Batgirl, Andreyko's Manhunter, Rucka's Superman, Loeb's Batman/Superman, Stott's Thing, Johns' Green Lantern, etc etc.

I'm more into DC than Marvel nowadays, whereas when I stopped reading comic books 15 years ago I was more of a Marvel comic reader.

Wow, the winning bid was $900.00, that's crazy.

Me personally I'd rather just get them in traded form or in Omnibuses. The only reason I would want individual issues is to scan them without having to worry about messing up the spine of a book.
