Don't bet on it.
When his bride and country are attacked by a sinister Stygian sorcerer, Conan strikes back at Stygia with all his might-and the might of Aquilonia-in a move that threatens to throw all Hyboria into chaos!
The long-awaited reunion of Violent Messiahs creators Joshua Dysart and Tone Rodriguez, Conan and the Midnight God #1 opens an exciting new chapter in the adventures of the barbarian king.
o Follow-up to Dysart and Rodriguez's story in Funcom's Age of Conan comic, distributed to 450,000 readers.
o Cover by Wizard cover-of-the-month artist Jason Alexander.

[I am a mark for the first VIolent Messiahs mini-series. I never read the second, I badly hoped for a tpb, but nothing.]

IT RHYMES WITH LUST
ARNOLD DRAKE (W), LESLIE WALLER (W), and MATT BAKER (A)
On sale Feb. 28
b&w, 112 pages
$14.95
TPB, 7 1/4" x 5 1/8"
In 1950, writers Arnold Drake and Leslie Waller, both attending college on the G.I. Bill, envisioned a sophisticated, novel-length comic tailored to their peers. Collaborating with comics art master Matt Baker, known for singularly defining the genre of "good girl art" on titles such as Phantom Lady, they crafted a film-noir inspired masterwork of romance, intrigue, and moral relativity. When cynical newspaperman Hal Weber reunites with old flame Rust Masson, he finds the beguiling widow of a mining magnate willing to do anything to undermine the local political machine-her only opponent for total control of Copper City!
This painstakingly restored replica volume includes a new introduction by writer Arnold Drake providing a first-hand history of the graphic novel. Before winning the Bill Finger Award for lifetime achievement in comics writing, before creating Deadman, or writing Doom Patrol and X-Men, Drake helped bring the original "picture novel" to life, a true milestone in the history of comics!
o Considered by many to be the first graphic novel, It Rhymes with Lust returns to print after more than fifty years-in the only edition authorized by the original creators!

[I love comics. I'm checking this one out.]

The long-awaited reunion of Violent Messiahs creators Joshua Dysart and Tone Rodriguez

Ah that makes sense. If I'd realised that that latest crappy Swamp Thing series was written by the guy who'd written the mediocre Violent Messiahs I'd never have given it so many chances

IT RHYMES WITH LUST was printed already in THE COMICS JOURNAL a few months back. It's a very nice looking book. The artist did an amazing job in focusing the reader's eye by graying out lines where needed. As I recall, I think it's basically DuoTone-type of lines for things he wanted to be out of focus or slightly hazy. Nice approach, and way ahead of its time.

As for PERHAPANAUTS: Yeah, Todd rules. And he was able to pull all of those quotes out of my previous reviews of the book, too, minus the punchline.
You're right, though -- all of those solicitations have been choice reading material.

Most importantly: USAGI #100!!!!! WHOO-HOO!

Most importantly: USAGI #100!!!!! WHOO-HOO!

A stunning example of last but not least!

Mysterious description though. Is there even a regular in continuity Usagi story in there? I'll buy it either way and am content to wait for the issue to find out.
