There's a good one. Don't know if it's so much a gag, but Jack Kirby's penchant for Dickensian children forming street gangs. :p

No they were totally a running gag. You'd never see them but they would always be playing a practical joke on the Thing.

"The same thing we do everynight Pinky. Try to take over the world!"

The cat is always vain on Red Dwarf. "How'm I looking? -opens mirror- I'm looking good."

Also, Cartman being a self centered Hitler loving anti-semite just doesn't get old for me. Ok, the Scott Tennerman ep was.. *shudder* Ok, that was something a bit out there, but other than that I love/hate the character and hope the little bastard never changes.

Frank Miller likes whores.

Harpo has everything in his coat.

Everything.

And here I was going to say Wakko Warner has everything in his gag bag of tricks.

The Titte' Brothers.

Calvin's snowmen.

Bart prank-calling Moe.

Tom Scharpling getting threatened in some way by one of Jon Wurster's characters at the end of their chats.

And yes, Torgo, but also Frank's endless pain at Dr. F's hands in some way or another.

I'm sorry, I think that's one of my least favourite running gags. =(

Now Scratch always getting distracted just as he's about to unleash and evil plan is hilarious. =D

One of my favourite running jokes is the "Robot Man" on Chappelle's Show (the guy who's randomly doing the Robot everywhere).

The girls good natured teasing each other re their love lives ( or lack of ) in BoP.

All-time fave: Spidey's many costume problems.
Also:
Poker with Nick Fury in the Marvel Universe
Charlie Brown, Lucy and the football
J'onn and the Oreos (already mentioned, but I concur)
Iceman and Beast interaction with regulars at the Coffee Bean
Daredevil at the waterfront bar
The Spirit and (fill in name) femme fatale
Mr. Mind and his defense attorneys/legal problems
The Legion and ever-lamer new applicants (much imitated)

The old men heckling Fozzy Bear in the muppets.

Big Keith in The Office.
(the REAL Office)

The Eagles attempts to bring class to the muppets with Wayne and Wanda.

Lenny and Karl in the simspons.
(actually that did get old, much like Smithers closeted love for Mr. Burns - it never would have gotten old if it had just been left as a background thing).

Whistling/Singing/humming 'Sucide is Painless' when doing somthing you loathe/anything you do with a hangover.

Jerry and Newman saying each others names in Sienfield.

Comic book fans and comic book creators getting into arguments about comments one made about others work. Check here http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2006/10/06/what-i-bought-4-october-2006/#comments for the latest entry in that long running horror/comedy)

The security guard turning off all the lights and shutting down the room a computer always I use is in, everytime I have a night shift.
(actually that shit was old the first time it happened, but two years later...)

Arthur Dent just wanting a cup of tea.

Greased-Up Deaf Guy 'just doing his thing' in Family Guy.

JD and The Janitor in Scrubs.

Just about any joke in Arrested Development.
(they all kept coming back eventually - and it just kept getting funnier).

Woody Allen either being scared when getting seduced, or trying to seduce an unintrested partner.

Holy shit, dude.

I'm giving it a day, but that one's actually put me off Belands work - being as he is his work and all.
I was going to post a comment and tell him it literally made me feel depressed seeing him act that way, but then he blasted the guy who said it put him off before me.

Is it wrong that I've occasionally envisioned a superhero version of Rocky Horror, with Reed and Sue as Brad and Janet?

Who would be Frank, though? Dr. Doom?

I think Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch should be Riff Raff and Magenta.

The writer of the comic strip definitely knows animals. :)

both from Arrested Development.

The 'sad Charlie Brown' walk that George Michael, Tobias & some of the other cast do every now and then.

'Steve Holt!'

Tobias' slips of the tongue (there's another :) )

Everyone being scared of Buster's hand

and my personal favourite:

"Her?"

Bart prank-calling Moe's bar.
Smithers's descriptions of Homer after Burns asks, "Who is that man?"
Rod and Todd.

Jayne's obsession with guns, namely his "Vera" relationship, in Serenity.

Anything snow art-related from Calvin and Hobbes.
