Did Steve Ditko Design the Red and Gold Iron Man Armor?

I think he at least was in on the changing, but maybe Kirby was in on it too.
It's not like he was unable to design characters.
And the older version looks stupid so i can understand why they wanted to change it.

Ditko don't talk much so i guess we will never know for sure.

[Don] Heck's solid background in war comics helped himget Iron Man off to a good start, but he wasn't entirely pleased with the character's armor despite his boundless admiration for Jack Kirby.

...

Kirby's original Iron Man suit, realistically bulky given the circumstances under which Tony Stark had to build it, soon changed form forbidding gray to gold. Later, it was streamlined into a red-and-gold design by Steve Ditko.

So yes, according to Daniels, Ditko did design it.

Well, if you're talking about the "red" and "gold" part, that was by Stan Goldberg, who determined the colors for all of the classic Marvel characters. He also drew MILLIE THE MODEL for Marvel and has worked as a penciler for Archie Comics for about thirty years.

No, you're not alone. I liked the gray armour too because it felt more like armour than some of the other looks. I mean the red and gold armour looked cool but it didn't really felt so much like armour. I guess I prefer a bit more of a bulky look to Iron Man.

I always liked the first red and gold armor with pointed tips on the helmet-faceplate. I have that Bowen statue and I love it. The Busiek-Chen version had an update of this design that I liked too.
