Okay. I didn't expect to even give a care about this series. But now, I'm going to have one busy VCR on Wednesday nights, and plenty to watch after I get home from church: Jericho, Lost, and The Nine. (Of course, with a lead-in like Lost, how could this not start well?)

Random thoughts:
-Main thing I don't understand: did the father that worked there lock his daughter in a cabinet? Is that what happened?

-And anyone else feel like this might have made a better movie?

-There's obviously more going on for the actual reason they were robbing the bank in the first place.

-(That part at the end where they all got together at the restaurant and the glass broke and they all jumped and then laughed nervously was good.)

I'm liking this show enough to keep watching but I have to wonder, if the show makes it to a second season, then what?

If they try to drag out the mystery of what happened in the bank during those two days out beyond the first season then I don't care how good the show is, I'll be all done.

I was surprised by how much I liked this. It's got potential to be interesting, as long as they don't veer too far off into "Lost" territory, with hard twists out of left field revelations. As long as the whole thing stays grounded in some kind of "reality" it could be very good.

Phenominal........loved every second of it, and will be sticking around every week, it was just so powerful, hell i even got a bit teary eyed when i found out eva died, and we hardly even got to see her. i cant wait until the show starts flashing back.

This and Heroes are neck and neck for best new show

Good first episode. But I'm having a hard time imagining how they can possibly stretch the story a full season.

And while I liked it, I'm not sure I liked it well enough to keep watching. My TV viewing schedule is pretty full now with Prison Break, Heroes, Veronica Mars, Lost, Smallville, Supernatural, and Battlestar Galactica. The Nine is going to be on the bubble with Jericho and surviving right now by being on the same night as Lost.

I dont see why itd be hard. we have no idea what happened in there, we can slowly learn about it, and then we see what implications it has today. i just cnat see ot going longer than one season

Hell, as much as I liked the first episode I find myself wondering if I really want to commit myself to this show.

The problem with these long-form season (or series) long story shows that have been popping up here and there for a while and have absolutely exploded onto the network schedules this new season is that if you really get into one and it gets cancelled in mid-season, you're left with only half a story.

I'm still kind of pissed about Reunion.

I think over time it will become more about what effect those 52 hours had on each person and the personal relationships formed grow and how these nine people are forever linked than about what happened in the bank.

If you really think about it there is a ton of directions they can go with this show and keep it on the air for a long time.

With a lead-in like "Lost", you know ABC was banking on a good one. I like the cast so far, actual believable characters, and I'm diggin' Foote so far! Maybe its b/c his name is so close to Egon, my fav ghostbuster..

Speaking of which; anyone else want to slap his wife after she got all bitchy? "What about me?" Jeez.. he just knocked out the robber, relax..

Over-all, a really good 1st show to add to an already awesome TV season so far..

I guess I'm in the minority or an island of one.

I thought it was okay but none of the characters interested me enough to want to commit an hour a week for a whole season just to find out what happened to those people. About the only character I liked was Egan Foote.

I think I'll just stick with Lost and when it goes on hiatus either take a break from tv viewing one night or rent a movie.

Well, what if Chi McBride's character didn't put his daughter in the cabinet? Maybe one of the gunmen did. I'm more curious on why she was there talking to the gunman...thoughts on THAT one?

I would say she is suffering from that Stockholm Syndrome when a hostage begins to feel connected with his or her captor.

Looks like you're onto something there.

And WOW what an ending!!!! I really did NOT think they would kill that guy. (I don't know what I was basing that on since it's only episode two.)

And I was watching with my ex-girlfriend (who's just a little darker than the Felicia character) pointed out that Felicia's makeup was too light for her skin tone. I hate it when they do that. They need to get the lighting crew from Oprah; can't stand that lady, but her lighting team has won awards.

Bad news.

Kristin from EOnline lists this show as "likely doomed" based on ratings.

I've tried a couple episodes and I just don't care about the characters enough to keep watching. My problem is how much each of the actor's are playing to type. Tim Daly, Scot Wolf, Chi, McBride, the "Audrey Raines" actress, "Dr. Phlox" actor, "Dharma & Greg's Greg's mom" actress are all playing characters you know already because you've basically seen them act the parts out before.
And the mystery doesn't seem to hold too much suspense for me... they had a bad couple days as hostages, meh.
The only mystery for me is who the inside person is, that's about the only wrench they could throw, suddenly switching one of the sympathetic hostages into a more sinister deceitful character.

I've only seen the first two episodes so far, but I have a question: What the hell is this show about? I mean, what is the story arc for the first season? Is it just what happened in the bank, 'cause, ya know, the characters were there. They know, they have no motivation for finding out. A show about the lives of these nine people isn't going to hold people's interest unless the story is going somewhere new.

I see this show as basically a primetime soap--where the characters are dealing with the aftermath of a hostage/bank robbery situation.

So yes, it's really about the lives of 9 people--but they decided to steal a little bit of LOST and show us a little bit about stuff that happened with the bank robbery each episode.

The problem I'm having is--the bank robbery stuff is waaaaay more interesting than these peoples' boring lives.

This show is barely holding on to 50% of LOST's audience--I think there's a chance we might not even get 9 episodes of this.

I do like the premise of this show and its mildly entertaining. And its pretty obvious now that the way they will drag this out all season (if it doesn't get cancelled first) is by revealing large chunks of the robbery in real time. But I'm having a hard time caring that much.

And the characters are okay but I don't buy that they are all suddenly best friends. For instance, I don't buy that the pregnant girl is going to call Audrey Raines (whatever her name in this show is) for moral support when the pregnancy goes bad. Doesn't she have any long time friends rather than this woman she's known for all of two weeks?

Yeah I thought that as well when I read the news, but I'm not sure if this is a full regular role or a recurring one. The article didn't give that information.

I thought Last Night's episode was the best one since the pilot, so hopefully the show goes on an upswing.

While the show has ceased production, ABC announced they plan to air the remaining episodes in the future. There was no specific date given for the show's return but it was mentioned that it could be before May.

One drawback is that the final episode does not give away what really happened in the bank.

ABC and the show's producers may get together to give away the final resolution of the story, but it won't be in the form of a wrap up movie or anything.

And this is why people don't watch most serialized shows. It'll be like Class Reunion all over again where the producers just come out and say what was going to happen.

The problem with this show was it should have been linear. I much more interested in the actual bank robber than people sitting around complaining after the robbery. The real drama was in the bank, not following around a cop gambling.

Just like they'll show the remaining episodes of Daybreak online? Sure...I'll believe that when it happens.

Cynic, you mean you don't have faith in the network to carry through on it's word? :D
